Looks like we won't be able to bring our new grandson to this year's race ---- but I bet we figure out a way to get a damn cool look'n car seat in the '56 by next year! We just have to figure out how to get him past tech & the starter's:rolleyes:. Casey --watch out:eek:. Future drag racer

Well, the driveline in the Fairlane was only about 30 miles old last year, so I wasn't ready to break anything yet. This year, I'm at about to 5,000 miles mark, so I plan on making some passes Friday night...and I'll have 6 weeks to fix whatever I break before the Roundup!

Ed Cannon challenged me last year, but I had to decline. We have almost identical engine setups, but I'm probably 2,000 lbs heavier with the more-door. This year, who knows???

Ken and I talked earlier and we might have to re-think the rpe-reg stuff... Here is the breakdown...

Gate is 10 bucks a head
then if ya want to race they will getcha for 15 bucks in tech
for a total of 25 for driver...
then if ya want to show your car its a 10 buck fee to be paid at the t-shirt table.

I know this is very confusing but this is the way the track sets it up. The track is very good to us as a club and we could not in anyway put on such a good show with out the good people at the track. So, bare with us and have fun....

BTW ... we bought a crap load of shirts this year... so be sure to pick one up... they're 15 buck and Mike did a hellof an art job for us...

Sorry for the confusion and misinformation about the entry fee to race at the Thaw. Please let me get it straight for everyone.

You will only pay your $10 admission to enter the track at the front gate.

The race entry fee will be paid and the forms filled out at the classification stand located at the headquarters tent for the Texas Timing Association in the pits . The fee to race will be only $10. We had earlier discussed a $15 price with the Torques and the track, but decided that with the economy in the pits, $10 was more fair and realistic. If you want to run heads up AND the bracket class both, that's fine; $10 for each class you enter.

Those who want to join the points chase towards an opportunity to win their class at the TTA Texas State Championship Race at Northstar in November need to get a TTA membership. The fee is $20, and you get a five-color screen-printed T-shirt and a TTA sticker when you sign up. We're still booking other events on the TTA nostalgia circuit for '09, and are planning for six other races in the series before we run the Texas State Championship next fall. If you just want to race at the Texas Thaw, and not run the other events and join the points competition towards becoming the Texas State Champion in your class, there is no need for you to buy a TTA membership.

In other TTA related news, we now have 15 vintage pro class dragsters and altereds confirmed for the Thaw, many of them blown and/or on nitro. We'll have a Cacklefest after lunch Saturday, and run three rounds of wheel-to-wheel match racing. Friends from the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association and the Southwest Junior Fuel Association are among those we are expecting for the event.

    Be there or be square!

I'm confused Ed,so let me get this straight,it's an additional $10 at classification in addition to,The $10 pit pass and $15 to get to the starting line that I payed when I pre-Registered to get to race? Or am I square with the world as it stands now?

I'm sorry I won't be able to make it out on Saturday. After Autorama 2 weeks ago and Decatur last week, I need to put in a little face time with the wife.

Drive 'em like you know how to fix 'em!!

    "Face time"?
Is that what's referred to in the porn industry as a "facial"?
