I saw an old Dodge 1 ton tow truck the other day and was thinking it would look pretty good once the dirt and grime was cleaned off.
Does anyone have such an animal? If you do, could you please post a few pictures? Thanks Keith

I think there have been a few threads on this in the past, as I have posted photos on them. Gary

Found this on line. I'm not sure what the hell is going on in the back, but it's pretty cool.

Saw this one done as a tilt tray at "Wintersun" 07.
From memory it sounded pretty tough too.

That appears to be a wheelchair lift for the driver or passenger

I don't have a picture, but have seen photos of a pretty wicked cool Diamond T tow truck, rat rod style :)eek:) here, and elsewhere. Very unusual, used a motorhome frame, axles. I think it was also pictured in R & C, at Bonneville, or, I could be having a senior moment...

I have a chance at a 1948 Dodge tow truck. Dont know if I am going to pass on it yet. Would be cool with the two speed hand winch it has though.

This beast has been for sale here in Maine for a couple years now. I have dark fantasies about doing crazy things with it too... the price is quite reasonable and just dropped $1,000 since the last time I looked at it six months ago.
I have a 302 Jimmy engine that I've been saving back for my vintage stockcar, but I might be willing to donate it to this monster for that torque.

I almost bought one, was actually thinking of starting a small tow yard with it as well. Not to go full on "tow business" but here and there style for some extra motivational cash.

A buddy of mine in southern Maine ran a small towing business with a 46 Chevy on a modified F-350 frame. That was/is a neat truck.
