Califort Collins, filled with folks displaced from the economy they helped destroy in California. Hell it's it a good town even with the transplants. New belgum brewery, Fat Tire, Excellent. Pinkee's rod shop, Excellent. Eric the owner is a master craftsman and a good man to talk to concerning any hot rod elated shit. In the summer the Good guys car show is in Loveland, just a few miles from Ft. Collins. Scotty's rod shop, excellent. The traffic in town can be kinda bad.
i guess i'm under a lot more cars than you cuz it SURE raises hell with aluminum.... and steel..... i see A LOT more corrosion than i used to. something else to think about (especially on a bike) is they don't sand the roads it's more like rocks....
Bring your street rod. I guarantee you will have lots of cruzin fun .Goodguys show is at the Larimer co fairgrounds in Loveland , next to Ft Collins. Denver is a 45 min drive from Ft Collins, plenty going on all summer.
Great kar & bike seen up Loveland way. If you got a bike some of the best riding in the country just 5 min. from you door. Have fun.
Maybe so, Tom. But there ain't too many cars built before the 1980's that have a lot of aluminum in them...and the "steel" used in cars today cannot even compare to what they used to be built from... Mag chloride is no where near what salt can do to a car... R-
I got no idea, www.mapquest.com and find directions from your house. Im from Iowa and just heard about that from a friend, so I checked it out and well someday I will make it out there I want that 34 Chevy coupe bad. SO DONT BUY IT!!!
Old Town is cool. Looked like it was mandatory to have a bicycle if you lived there also. Will certainly agree on nice looking gals there also, around Old Town any way. Cops are not too bad either, They didnt give me a ticket for open headers or speeding there last summer. Very nice people encountered when I visited.
PoPo, It's all yours... ha ha I did a reverse lookup on that phone number, then did a google from the air. It just shows a dirt lot in Windsor. Ft. Collins aint all that big. I can give direction to a couple other yards that are fun to walk and kill half a day. Maybe they dont want anybody walking it. Roach
Dave Crouse's shop at Loveland would be a great place for you to visit and develop some networking. www.realhotrods.com
Ahahahahahahaha...if that's the case, I'd bet "rocky mountain relics" ain't even in the state of ColoRODo...the owner prolly lives in Ft. Collins and does NOT want anyone knowing where that yard is (I know I ain't got a clue and I know where most of the good yards are...!!!) Obviously the owner knows what he's got and letting anyone simply "walk" a yard can get things disappeared...no matter how honest you are...!!! R-
Rockey Mnt Relics is a real place. I've been there met the owner and his Dad got a tour of their places and they have a TON of stuff. I believe the owners name is Doug and he does have a small amount of stuff at his house but then he takes you to his ranch and thats where about half of it is. You can't see it from the road, for a reason. He knows what the stuff is worth and gets good money for it.
well then in 2010 Ill bring the green money Im stashing away for that old chevy, hopefully the bright color will make him take a few less pieces..lol I sure wish I had a "ranch" or "back 40" littered with old relics like that. But if I did, I sure wouldnt be sitting on the internet right now.
I dunno PoPo...2010 is a long way off...!!! If I were you...I'd be contacting RMR and asking them if you can make a down payment and make monthly payments on that Chevy...he who snoozes loses...!!! R-
Brickster...They let anybody just stop in and walk the yard ?? Or are they proud of their stuff and just like to hord and make folks like us drool ? Any directions ??? Roach
I went to rocky mountian relics in 2004 and will never forget it. The owner is a really friendly guy and has one hell of a collection.
Small world.....that 34 Chev coupe you're wanting bad....I sold it to Doug thru ebay .....and it was 50mi. north of the Quad Cities for 5yrs. !!!!!
Thanks tomslik, Looks like a day of fun, pack some sandwitchs, pop and make a day of it, go visit Martins too. Roach
I did a job at Univ in Greeley a couple of years back. I found some parts that I was looking for, for a couple of years, in two yards South of Ft. Collins, and I thought the one yard there was the second best I had ever been in. First being in N. Dakota. I was told that there was a HUGE yard NW of Ft. Collins though I cannot remember the name.
sandwhiches hell, slip over to severence for a plate of nuts and a beer that's rocky mtn oysters for you guys that need a translation
