<sigh> Yes... perhaps it's about time. Perhaps a better way even of disseminating the information than the aging Polyspherical Engine Association web page... which I have to update soon, by the way. I'm a slacker. ~Jason
That's a damn nice looking motor, I don't care how much hp it does or doesn't kick out, looks great. But got to say, definitely without a doubt, still not a hemi - not that there is anything wrong with that. If that is what they look like, I say go for it cause that does look nice, just no need to pretend it's a hemi when it just isn't.
Nope. And it kind of hurts us A-engine people's feelings, too... Now, I won't say it's impossible, but like any large task it'll take an awful lot of time and money... you have to make them from scratch. I've seen it done for 440s... ~Jason
Thanks everybody for the interest on this, it's turned into quite the discussion! Ok, maybe this will make it more of a traditional subject; I wanted to make sure that in taking this engine out that I was prepared for this to be a PITA just in case and not waste too much time. I'm taking the engine out of the RV to put into a rat rod, and since I'd found the H.A.M.B. forum thought it would be a great idea to get advice here.
You know, rustynewyorker has a point - there are a BUNCH of vintage camper/motorhome guys out there... if you put an ad out there or make the rounds on some of those boards you could find yourself in a position where people will PAY you for parts off of it, and may end up taking the motor out for you to get to some of the stuff they need to boot! Not bad, man... getting someone to pay you to take your motor out! Anytime you have any poly questions (including where to find cheap parts), feel free to ask, man. I'm usually around, and always willing to help. ~Jason
Oh, Jesus... this just took "quite a discussion" to the next level. I'll be over sharing povertyflats' popcorn... hang on Paul, I'm bringing the butter & salt. ~Jason
Wow who said MOPAR engines weren't interesting??? So if a Hemi says Chrysler industrial on it does that mean I can't put it in a hot rod. cuz stationary pumps and jet aircraft auxiliary power unitss aren't traditional????
Show us some pics! Some of us are illiterate, and would really appreciate them. LOL! Hell, show us your motor, too! ~Jason
