Mine is an old story. A DACC club mate told me of the site while at a Musscle Car Challenge at Ennis Texas. I really didn't get into the site until after the first Texas Thaw. I tuned in for the photo. This site does have the best photo's.

  2. found this board while looking for help with a 48 F1 p/u my boss and i were working on..... and its all been downhill since

and it was nice the other day to see everybody actually showing a little love for a early model corvair a kid got from his mom on here. Every other board that's not corvair only shows no love for these cars and i LOVE my 63 coupe that i use as my daily

Seriously, I stumbled across the HAMB at Goodguys, and started lurking back in 2007. I came on not too long ago and even though I joined the Alliance, I may as well be an FNG.
Altho I've seen the term "thread whore", and think that may apply to me.......Having said that, I've found more GOOD advice here to help me with my project than ANYWHERE else. Thanks, Mike ;)

I went to one of my first car shows and someone mentioned this site to me. Everytime they would say the name I kept thinking "The Ham"??? thats a weird name for a site. Then they speleed it out for me. Its cool as hell...my porn watching has dramatically decreased.

I found out about it through the Jalopy Journal. I love it, it's helped me find parts and info for my project and inspired me to try out pinstriping (which I'd always wanted to do). Love all the tech stuff. I've spent hours and hours on here. Seemed like a great community to be a part of. I only recently got ripped by one guy who'd found a truck and was deciding to buy. Turns out the post was 3 years old, never did get the update. I guess he didn't get the truck and didn't want to be reminded (or was bitter about it). Oh well, now I check the date before replying. Still learning.

Like lots of others, I found that GOOGLE searching for traditional hot rod & custom information led to the h.a.m.b., so I decided to cut out the middleman. I've learned stuff and been entertained every time I log in. I really thought I'd have a project going by now, but the stock market tanking has siphoned away most of my play money.

    viva la h.a.m.b.!

At just about the time that I really started getting into hot rods, someone on pirate4x4 mentioned the H.A.M.B. and added a link. I've been hooked ever since. I'm just trying to get an education for the day that I'll have a project.

I was told by a friend about it, he said "you being a old drag racer and hot rodder" that I should check it out. I did, and liked what I read and seen. I don't post much but I read almost every thread. I'm not much for words so I enjoy a lot of the remarks made at some post. All that said I like the HAMB.

Google search looking for information on a flathead.

Now I read the forum almost every day and almost any time I have a question I can search the forum and find loads of information.

I hardly ever comment since I have little expertise to add, but I do learn something everytime I log in. Thanks to all of the guys on the forum that contribute their expertise!

I actually joined back in 2002, but never logged in and did an intro. Thats back when your password was assigned to you and I could never remember what it was (some random letters and numbers), plus It was a little tuffer HAMB back then and I was just plain scared of Germ and the others that would run people through the ringer. Well when I finally decided to do an intro several years later when I finally felt like I had some knowledge to share my old handle was gone and I had to re-join.....

I was actually on another forum, a "r*tr*d forum and saw a couple of posts by a member there who disagreed with the H.A.M.B. Being as how I didn't agree with his line of reasoning, I decided I'd check it out. I googled it, went to it and was hooked. I don't have the skills many of you have, and I'm probably not as strict a "traditionalist" as many are, but I love the style of these hamb friendly rides and am in awe of the work and dedication that goes into many of the rides. Through the hamb, I've met some new friends in my area and one day, maybe I'll have a 100% hamb friendly ride. I'm here to stay.

I googled my way in by accident looking for a book . I was a magazine junki before the hamb. The HAMB is heroin to us photo Junkies ! ! !

It seems to be growing like std's here lately......partly because of my big mouth. I also like the aspect of drinking the milk from the cow before you have to pay for it.......ha ha !

Yes Ryan my 50. dollar membership will be sent in asap, if i don't get kicked off first ! ! thanks Haney

I had heard of and seen it mentioned for a couple of years but I looked it up from a mention in the Rodders Journal.

I found it through another site where people were complaining they were kicked off or burned because they were using the rodent word. So I looked it up, found it, joined, lurked forever, now its my home site.

A friend, who is an alliance member, told me about the site. I was asking him questions about what I might do with my 29 rpu. I watched the site for a while and found the technical information of great help. Finally decided that if I wanted it to stay around I should join and take part. I have a couple of fun cars and find the site very informative. Also, some of the member are very entertaining.

    I found it through Chopperman - he's also on Pirate4x4 which I've been a member since 2001.

Also, I know Atch who is an Alliance member and he's mentioned it several times too.

Once I gather a few more parts for my Henry J, I plan to buck up and become a member here too.

I've known about the HAMB for years - been buddies with Denise and Rudy... but I always thought that I didnt' have time for that kind of internet chat crap..... what a waste of time, right? WRONG!

Then a few months ago, I moved a long way from where I grew up, moved away from my life long car friends - my only real family. I realized how much that sucked because I missed my friends and I thought the HAMB would keep me in touch with them and help me make new friends; which it has.

So, yea this is a sappy, gurly answer, but one from the heart
