I have a 51 Chevy coupe that I'd like a little guidance regarding tire choice. I would like to run wide whites and my choice or rim will either be a stock 51 15 inch wheel painted black with a flipper hub cap. My other choice will be a 15 X 7 chrome reverse wheel. For the stock wheel, what was the size of tire used in 51. Was it the 6.70 X 15 ? I don't think I can use that tire with the chrome reverse due to the width of the wheel. What is recommended for the 7 inch wide rim that will fit in the 51 Coupe. Thanks

On my 54 I am gonna run 15x5 inch stock wheels, with 670-15 bias whites. To me that looks the best. Everyone is different, but that was the stock size wheel and tire. Yours should be the same.
I wouldn't run wider than a 6 inch rim with a 670, but thats just my opinion.

    670/15's were original equipment.
