I've been working on this wheel in my head for about a year now. I wanted to do a lacing pattern that was a little more difficult than normal.[IMG] This one wheel took about 5 hours to make
    What do you think?

  8. Hey looks great - can you tell me what I am looking at? Did you punch all the holes for the spokes custom in a raw rim and hub? Did you bend the spokes for the custom holes? What kind of hub is that? will it fit early ford hubs? does it need a spacer like other early wires? Did you start with a british wheel like is off an MG?

Wow, that wheel style reminds me of the higher priced early big cars in the 30s.

Similar to a lip lace or rim lace Borrani from the 1950s - very cool wheel$$$. Borranis have aluminum rims. Nice 1 Jimmy.

I'm thinking I'm gunna have the rim and hub powdercoated and use stainless spokes

Its a 16x4.5" Rim, I'm thinking it would look better as an 18"
The worst part is when you have to take it apart to get other spokes in. It's not true yet but that part wont be very hard. I made it so it will be pretty easy to true.

I did all the dimples and drilling of the holes, and had to cut and thread all the spokes because I didn't have any that were the right size. It's a Tall Hub Mclean center, And I had to fill up the bottom spoke holes and redrill them into the right places. It can fit anything I make it for, and it does not need a spacer. Like I said I started with a McLean Hub, everything else is new.

I kinda copied the lace pattern off of a #6 Buffalo, which came on duesenbergs and many other things

5 hours? That would have taken me 5 years and it still would have been all f'd up and off center.

  27. Will these be going into production ?
