I've got one, too. 440 mocked in place with new firewall. It's bagged and chopped. Now I just need to finish all of these projects...

    Here's mine!

It's a '48 Plymouth business coupe that I've had for many, many years. It was rescued from behind an old service station in Van Nuys, California, in rough but rust-free condition. We drove it in the faded silver paint patena for a couple of years to the absolute horror and disgust of our street rodder friends (keep in mind, this was almost 30 years ago!). Then stripped and primered it and drove it that way for a couple more years...California raked with big 'n' little wide whites, red wheels and Fiestas.

Several incarnations later it is now as you see it here. Mustang II front suspension, Z'd front and rear, 9-inch Ford, mini tubs to get everything under the rear fenders...and a 360/360 MoPar Performance pallet motor for power! The A500 automatic overdrive tranny (30% overdrive) allows the use of 4.56 rear gears while allowing comfortable freeway crusing. The fabrication and mechanical work was all done by Ray Lund of Simi Valley, California while the paint and body is by yours truly.

And yes, that's road rash and those are primer spots...battle scars of many a road well travelled. She'll never be a beauty queen, but she's comfy as your favorite blue jeans. :)

First, let's not bicker over motors and such, build what ya like and appreciate the work that others put in to their rides. Play nice. :D
There's a lot of great looking Mopars here.....but I gotta say, Jaco, that c-dan is bitchin'!!
So, has this turned in to a Mopar club?
Here's my '52 Dodge. The 1st pic is how it looks now and the 2nd is where I'm going with it.

I have a 48 Plymouth 4 door with a modified flathead I/6. I drove the car with a friend from central Texas to Hot August Nights in Reno, on to Califorina and then to Bonneville for speed week in 2007, 4800 miles. Car has disc brakes on front, a 90 Dakota 3.55:1 rear end, and rewired to 12 volts, we drove it 65 to 75 mph for most of the trip. For the flathead I/6 owners there is another forum, P15-D24.com, that caters to any flathead MoPar I/6 engine and most Plymouths and Dodges through the fifties.

  7. Well, it's not your typical HAMB hotrod, but it's been run down the strip
at MoKan---for the HAMB drags a couple years ago. (Probably set the
record for slow.) Still has a flathead six....from a 57 Plymouth.

  8. well? who going to step up and host HAMB social pylmouth club?

ok I'm in too! 49 and 52 wagonsI had planned to clone the Cerny wagon but ended up doing my own thing
shortened the floor pan on a 52 Belvedere hardtop put it on the 7 inch shorter 52 wagon chassis. added the wagon quarters and roof for a true 52 plymouth 2 door hardtop wagon. did this 11 years ago and will finish it sometime soon

I have been lurking lately but haven't posted in quite a while.. Mine has been out of service for a while, but I am reviving it in hopes of making the HAMB drags again this year (made it to the first two, but haven't been able to make it back since)

Just got the new Mustang II front end under it and that is the only good shot I have of it thus far. Will try to post up some more once it is mobile again and I can get it out of the garage.
