  4. Search Toyota and Supra on here. In one of the T5 threads some Aussie guys had pics of that I believe.

Sure looks to me like a T56 6-speed! Early Camaro style ('93-'97) with separate bell...

You'd be a lot better off finding a correct S-10 T-5. That transmission's tail shaft will put your shifter under the seat in a Model A.

It looks like the t-5 from a chevy chevette. It might be o.k behind a stock flathead. If it didn't cost much, just put it in and see how long it will last. Then if it does break you can simply replace it with a t-5 from s-10/s-15 4x2 truck.

Unfortunately that's not a T5. I've rebuilt several. They all have basically the same main case with the exception of bolt pattern and a different tailhousing.

That one doesn't even look like a T56.

It IS !!! A T-50 used in Sunbirds Monza's 4s V-6 and 262-267 V-8s and I think a few 305s. Got one in my T Roadster behind a warm 153 Chevy II soon to be a warmer 181. Slick shifting little box , most likley work just fine behind a mild flattie . Same lenght as a T-5 uses Turbo 350 yoke. Funny bell most likely was a Vega one.
And asfar as the shifter location in my T it's about 8 inches or so in front of the seat. As the Brit sporty car mags would put it "falls readly to hand " LOL

T50's are weaker than the T5, but behind a stock flathead it should work well enough.

  16. I actually worked on one in a mid 70's Cutlass of all things.

One interesting thing about them is 5th [OD] is not in the rear of the cast like a T-5, rather it is up front where 3rd would be in a 4 speed. All the parts are assembled on that center section and front and rear cases just more or less hang on to that. Find a older Chilton's manual ,that has a good view of the workings. I have a 15 in shifter on mine and the throw is very short like a couple of inches.
Just looked at that Ebay listing ,pricey as the last one I bought was only $50. And only thing wrong with it was a missing shifter .

3:54 gears! With an overdrive trans you should be thinking 3:78 or 4:11 even better.
