    Awwwwwwww fudge!

This one is gonna be hella-tough. I'm pretty sure I got it narrowed down to 3, but I cant decide from there.... Maybe I should deduct points for spelling and punctuation to help narrow down my decision??? :D

    Best of luck to EVERYONE!

    P.S.
I'm working on a big one that may actually be a contender for the next tech week/month/smackdown... Any idea when that might be?

The HAMB's annual "cabin fever" tech smackdown... I seriously like that idea!

I think it should run from Jan 1st to the 31st, as the month of Jan seems to be the darkest part of winter. That also gives us a whole year to plan for it.

Job market isn't even near as hot as the weather, thats for sure. Funny thing about the temperature, I don't remember ANYONE saying they wanted to come out when we hit 128 degrees that one year. :D

What I don't understand is how "Old school chevy electronic ignition" could possibly be tied with "Caveman tech - building a bellhousing for a flathead cadillac".

    There is no comparison.

The results this early in the game mean absolutely nothing. A mere 104 people have voted out of the 64,000 hamb members.

They are both excellent threads, as well as two of my favorites.

Vote for the one that "speaks to you" the most, simple as that.

  14. tough call they are all winners in my book .. good luck to everyone..

No kidding. These people took the time to take pictures and write posts to share a wealth of information. If you read through them and learned ANYTHING AT ALL, even a tiny tip, then show them that their efforts were not in vain, by at least taking 20 seconds to vote.

Tough decision, think I'll put 3 # in the hat and pull a number. Great job for all that took the time with picture to post. In time I'm sure all the tech will used by another member. Scott

I thought about it for a while and I was trying to decide between Caveman tech and the pie cut hood. I went with the hood because after reading it, I'm confident I could do that, where as after reading the other I'm confident there's no way I could pull that off. I'll give honorable mention to the custom banjo wheel which I also thought was cool.

    That's beautifull man!
I still cant decide. I'v got it narrowed down to 4, and I keep reding them over and over trying to find "the one", but there all just so damn good.

  20. I didn't realize "How Hard" it would be to vote... I narrowed it down by the equipment I have or would use.

Next I narrowed it down by my willingness to perform the action or make the part.

Then I write down the remaining 20+ threads on "playing cards" which I attatch to a "Bicycle wheel" then I give it a spin and when the wheel stops I select the card on the closest spoke to the Crank hub as the "WINNER"...!

So don't blame me on my selection... "Blame it on the Draw of the Cards"!!!!

the choice was simple for me,
    same as every election,
if I put myself in the running
    I vote for myself..

that way I always get at least one vote :p

I posted a tech for this contest but after looking around at everything available here I should have made it short and sweet:

    1. First log on to:
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum

    2. Then so a search for what you need (see picture below)

    3. If you did not find what you need post a thread and say:

    4. Within minutes you will have the answer you are looking for and probably 5 different ways of accomplishing what you needed to get done, where to buy it, and what not to do.

I am not even trying to kiss ass. This place has some of the most well read and giving people I have ever met. I know that lots of the guys on here give advice every day for free.....and take money right out of their own pockets. These guys make a living doing metal work, body work, paint, auto repair, etc. and its there experience and know how that feeds there kids. They are on here answering questions and helping others for the love of old cars.

The reality is that the best tech thread ever goes to the guys who started this place and everyone who comes here to contribute! I am working on a car right now and I think I have been on here at least twice a day for the past 4 months getting help and I just wanted to say thanks to every one!

My vote's in place as well.......the Old-school Chevy ignition deal just makes so much sense......as does all of the tech articles, for that matter.

Bubba, if I ever hit the lottery and have spare time galore, I'm knockin' on yer door for an apprenticeship!

Can we get one of those cool "I voted" stickers they always give you at the polls?:D

  28. Difficult choice. Strangely, some really good ones got no votes at all. I voted on one I most likely will be using; no way I could narrow down the BEST one..

Man, some have zero votes. You'd think the guy who wrote the tech would have at least voted for himself! Ha.

But serious let's get some more people voting here, this is why we all come to this site to read and learn. let's show those who share thier ideas and hard work with us that we appreciate it!
