Newbie from FL

I have been reading on the HAMB for a few mouths now and figured that now is a good time to say hello as any. I own a '63 Rivera, I am 26 years old and work at a quality collision repair facility in Holly Hill, FL. I have attended 4.5 years of tech' school for collision / refinishing, hot rod and chassis fabrication locally in Daytona and also in PA at WYO.

I have been working on the floor as a flat rate tech' for 4 years. I was worried there wasn't enough $$ in building custom cars, so I decided to do collision work. So far it has been a good choice. I make enough $$ to build my own cars and buy equipment little by little with the intention that someday I will own my own hot rod and body shop.

I love to weld and build stuff out of metal. I was offered a job at the community college teaching the welding program. I took the job to put some extra cash in my pocket to help buy more equipment and build my Buick. I taught my students that "Wanted" to learn. (Seriously, I'm not sure why some of them were there.) Anyway, I made some friends and learned a lot myself while earning extra spending $$. Regretfully, I couldn't seem to keep up the 14 - 16 hour days after a while, so I resigned and continue to do body work.

Well enough of the introduction, let me show you what I've been working on ... here's my '63 Riv that I've owned for 3 years now. The car belonged to a good friend of mine. It sat in his shop for 8 years before I received it from him! The car has been running and driving for over a year now. I made it out to the '08 Billetproof in Ocala, what a great show, I can't wait for this years! I try to make it to all the local car shows in between restoring and repairing the car little by little.
