    Guys, whats an SU?
If I can find a SBC and get it in my truck I'll post it up. I like the idea with the cross-tubes that you can swap.

Ahh never thought to check Wikipedia.
Not sure what carburetor I'll use on my SBC if I get one. I may try to make a tunnel ram with a single carb or something... if I convert my 2.2L 4 banger to carb I'm not really sure what to use with it.

The carbs I used are nothing special. Chevy truck Q-Jets with a good rebuild

.home made i[IMG]ntake (I won't say what it's for since it isn't really hamb material)

  15. Here is one I made many years ago for a BB mopar. I never finished the bottom but used a Wiend SS manifold bottom instead. The top I had cast by a local foundry from the wooden test piece i have sitting on top of the steel bottom here. The top appeard in chrsyler power mag in the late 90s. A racing friend asked if i still had the whole deal and would i finsih it with him so he could try it on his stroker. That is why I dug it out. I set it on the 5.7 in my HEmi-jeEP project just for inspiration till he comes over and we start finishing it off. Racer Brown owner Jim had tried to encourage me to finish this years ago . Why didnt I dont really know except i was trying to make a living back then. Now i am just havin fun.

The top piece was run for a year in the sealed wood and then cast when i was sure it was working right. It added almost 2 mph and cut over a 10th of a second off our et with a 4150 pound race car. I figured out once it was 25 to 30 Hp improvement over what we were running. I used the exact carbs i had on the other manifold so not as to fudge the results (cause if you lie to yourself you are beat fore ya start.)

I always admired this one on Sam's Roach Rod. I don't remember seeing any comentery on how it was done or how it preformed. I assume the took a four barrel manifold whacked the top off and welded the two two plate in its place.

Here are some I've done for Ford 300 straight sixes:

This one uses three 540 Holleys on a plenum style. It took four sets of hammerform dies to make.

This on eI made from three stock 1V intakes.

Here is one I did for my '30s champ car. Two SU HS6s.

ya..it's because I hated the damn stock carbs on my 82 honda...so I've tried 3 different designs to get it close to right then once it's running it will get sprayed white to match the bike!

it works alright . i still have some tuning to do but i was told it will never work because it was to heated . well that is all the fuel i needed to move forward with it . so yes it will work on your slant six. be creative make your own intake .

I made the valve cover for a replica champ car I am building. It is supposed to loosely resemble a Duesenberg Inline 8 race engine. I can't afford a Duesy so I'm going to make my 300 Ford resemble it. See the related HAMB post.
