  5. I don't believe Lowell ever took his car to the west coast.
There are several photos of west coast based sidewinders on Don Ewald's site WDIFL.com. There's good search engine at the bottom of the first page.

BTW...Am I the only one who finds it interesting that the largest thread on a traditional hot rod site is all about drag racing? The two were, and will always be, linked together...and that's a good thing. Merry New Year to ALL

Actually the ex Sox & Martin Paper Tiger Too. This was a converted S/S car that they had in addition to the original hardtop style bodied car which was the Paper Tiger.

The body to this car was for sale at Hershey several years ago. Anyone know where it is now?

This thread never ceases to amaze me. Go away for a few hours, come back, and there's two or three more pages. It's like motorcycles on a street-legal night. Run them through once and they go back in the lanes and breed. There's twice as many the next round.

WOW these times and speeds seems so slow compared to today's. My stock 1985 motorcycle did 10.50 sec in a quarter mile.

As the rollingbones put it " It's not how fast you go, it's how you go fast" wouldn't you rather go back in time to see those cars listed run or go to a recent n.h.r.a. race?
