Hi guys, found this site while searching for pics and details of the tasca 62 and 63 fairlanes.Haven't come across much of anything.Does anyone have any pics or details about it or others like it?I just picked up a 62 fairlane that I want to turn into a super stock clone and really don't know where to start.

What wheel/tire sizes were run on these cars and thunderbolts?Want to run a steel wheel for now just not sure what sizes I need.

    Thanks
    Brian

check crites website they make lotsa stuff for thunderbolt clones , falcons and fairlanes . as far as wheels your probably not gona be able to run more than a 7 inch wide wheel out back without a inboard spring location !

Checked crites don't have much in the way of 62 parts, mainly 63-64.

That's exactly the ones.Just looking for more photo's and maybe some write-up's decribing the cars.More pics would definately help.I had posted in that thread but didn't get any response.

    Here's what I'm starting with.......

The 64 Thunderbolts came with 4" wheels on front and 7" on rear.

I'm open to suggestions on what you think I ought to do with this car.Love the old Super stock's and gasser's.Seen one fixed like a gasser but don't think I will go that route with this car.But hey throw out some ideas.IT's a one owner car that's been sitting in the same spot since Mar 84.221 v8 "3 on tha tree",so whatta you think?

    Nice '62! I'm working on a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 (4-door) with a 221 V-8 with the 3-on-the-tree. Before my '62 I owned a '63 Fairlane 2-door that was to be done up in a dealership-sponsored racer, here's some pics:

Both of those look great!Did you get to finish the 63?What size wheel/tire's you runnin on the 62?What kind of wheels are on front/back?That's pretty much the direction I want to head with mine.I'm planning on getting the ride height like I want it,and get the wheel/tire combo right.Gonna run steel for now and may change to radir or torque thrust later. Then start picking up pieces to make it "look" right(radio delete, tach etc.)Probably just run an exhaust and maybe a small cam for some sound. Not planning on paint or interior anytime soon.Get it to where I can drive and enjoy it then I'll probably start on a 289/302 and a toploader, who know's were it'll go from there.

Thanks for the praise Brian. I ended up selling the '63 Fairlane in mid-June when I came to the realization that I took it too far apart (no garage+no tools=no service). My grandfather worked at Jantzi Motors LTD as a parts manager, service manager, and then later a car salesman - thus the name on the side. But two weeks after selling the '63, I bought the '62 Fairlane. For wheels on the '62 I have a pair of E-T Rebel wheels in the front (P195/70R14) and in the rear I have a pair of 15" Ford Crown Vic/Mercury Marquis wheels (P225/70R15). The front and rear rims are about 6.5" wide, but the tire widths create the illusion of a skinny/wide look. If you want a wide stock rim, look for 1992-97 Ford Crown Vic wheels - some came with full-size rims in the trunk - that's how I found mine! For tires you can fit a P235 tire easily, a friend with a '63 Fairlane managed to fit a P255 tire in, but it is a really tight squeeze.

    Thanks!

The Tasca 63 was a 406 ci car. I'm sure Troublemaker here on the HAMB can fill in the blanks...

    The Tasca '63 car is a 427, the Tasca '62 car was a 406.

Here are a couple of clones:

The '62 car, the '63 is on the other side and I don't think I have a good photo of it.
