This is one of the early car-culture influences in my life. Another was One of his employees that did over 60 engine swaps in the mid-fifties, mostly Caddys and Olds, but some Hemi's. My son KatsAss and I were at Bonneville for Bud's 50th anniversary run on the salt. We're pictured at the 6.42 min mark. I'm in the tan hat and son's top half of head not pictured. It was a blast and I went back to help out with Bud every year until this last one. Bud says it best, you don't only go to the salt once. Some inaccuracies on the video like when Bud says he went 147.20 but then later said the correct speed of 157.20 that was faster than Rollie's time. Bud blew one of the Monster's engines on the return run though and didn't get the record. I saw the timing tag with the 157.20 listed though. Enjoy, and be inspired to still be as active as Bud is when you reach that age. Ol Blue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMK1XVGI_mc&feature=email
