Hey there. This Mercury just came home to the garage and is owned by my FIL. I helped him get it home and tuned up, but even though I've been a Mercury guy for the last 20+ years, I don't know squat about the MEL engines and these space race era Mercs. So: 1. Does anyone have any exploded diagrams of the MEL. I can't seem to find technical info anywhere on this engine series that seems to be a good solid powerplant, but short lived and obscure. (Idles smooth as glass and runs great). 2. What kind of Power Steering fluid do these old cars use? Anything special? more questions to come, I'm sure. thanks for the help.
Type F for the power steering. Ford used that fluid up into the 1990s in power steering even after they changed the auto trans fluid to the Dextron kind... Cool old Merc!!
