I love this little black one with the bed cover up. I don't think you can beat that look with a 20's/30's pickup. Still on my list to aquire.

  2. I think I saw this in the classifieds a few months back.

I like them more with fenders than without.

basically a p/u is a coupe with a bed instead of a trunk ! so "kool" is in the eye of the beholder ... steve .. love my fenders !!!!!

To elaborate on the bed a little bit, the late 31 pickups had a bed very similar to the '32. So you sometimes see a 31 cab with the smaller early bed and sometimes the wide bed depending on it's manufacture within the year.

TOE posted this one on another thread. Hopefully he doesn't mind if I repost it here. Other than the color and decals which I don't care for, I think it really hits the mark.

Heres mine...one completely stock as I got it and the other with the full V8 treatment...Late 31 steel roofed wide bed with 32 k-member,4in axle and 32 wishbone, things get tight with a V8 but it sure looks good. Fenders are off right now while I do some fine tuning but will be on once thats over!

Here is one with an extended cab to give more room inside. I was next to the one posted above. Looks like it has a mild chop and shortened bed. Nice truck.

I fixed the white balance, so the old image is gone. Here's the corrected one...

My first car was a '30 Model A p/u that my Dad and I built in '79-'80. It was my only car until '85 and I'll bet I put over 100,000 miles on it, especially considering I moved from Northern Ca to Phoenix, Az and back during that time. I can tell you this much, you will NOT be happy driving it if you chop it. Unlike a coupe or sedan, you cannot move the seat back to accomodate headroom and vision issues that go with a hammered top. With a pickup, you is where you is, period. I'm about 5'-10" and I was STUFFED in there. With a SBF and a 4 spd, it was tight. BTW, I still have the car and have been kinda sorta thinking of selling if anyones interested. But be warned, it's totally disassembled.

Don't chop it over 4 inches unless you are really short.....My 33 has a 4 inch chop and I am 6'3" and it is short on space...And HELL yes full fender trucks can be cool.......

a chopped coupe posted some photo of a 28 model a truck out at bonniville this year . i originaly built that truck out of an old farm truck . when i had it it was all original faded paint . i drove it from cincinnati ohio to the 2006 la roadster show . it was cool to be in rural texas and look out the window and be door handle to door handle with jake and his 29 panel . it was a neat little truck

Here is one that I owned. Sold it after I wrecked it (strictly my fault) I love these little trucks but not much leg room.

I have a new one coming sometime soon. This is it, all stock, except for the dropped front axle, juice brakes, and the steelie wheels.
I will not chop, love the original look of the 30 Ford closed cab roofline.

Really like the way the truck looked back then.
I'm sure you have some regrets about letting it go.
    Thanks for posting those pics.
