A friend of mine just emailed for help on this problem. "I noticed a scratch on my windshield and pulled over to check and damn it was indeed a scratch, puzzling because before leaving the house I removed snow and I washed both blade and glass . Some traction road sand was the probable culprit. I have called a couple of auto glass places but, they say they can't fix it. An online search mentions various glass rubbing compounds used with an orbital buffer. It appears to be a tricky process, with making things worse a distinct possibility." If any of you have any experience with this kind of glass problem, please let me know and I will pass along your ideas. Thanks
Been doing autoglass for 23 years. Never saw a wiper scratch that I've been able to buff successfully, so I don't try anymore. Some small, fine non-wiper scratches are buffable, though.
