Wow! This is a prime example of getting off on the wrong foot. Your fifth post is a blatant rip-off posted to the art show. Tsk, tsk!

And you say you're superintendent of schools? Might want to go to your little car club and teach them a few things about Ethics and Copyright Law.

Don't you love what computers can do now. Something like that 15yrs ago would have taking a silicon graphics origin2000 a day to render.

    Mac, PC, Linix or Unix?

Perhaps we should let Roadsterguy explain first, before we accuse...perhaps one of his students did the art, perhaps some other professional in the area ripped off the logo and the "super" was not aware...I'd like to hear his explanation ...

I will certainly have a talk with the club members and try to contact the copyright owner to find out what we need to do to use the image if that is even possible. We started the club a few months ago and several of the kids got together to work on the logo design. They brought me a jump drive with the image on it and I thought it was great so I decided to post it. I believed the car in the image to be copyright-free line art that they got from the net or a disk. Guess I blew it. Sorry to those that I offended and will try to rectify it with the image's rightful owner.

This is my favorite post every week, the images are awesome to say the least, there are some really talented guys on here thanks for sharing.

I added a few shots of my tool box that was striped by one of the most talented stripers in my area Terry Buczak. Both lockers match he must have walked back and forth 200 times to make sure they looked the same.

Fair response Roadsterguy. I looked you guys up and saw the image and article regarding the roadster the classroom is building. Cool stuff for young people.

Good luck with your copyright chasing.

Actually it was good to see something from Bill on the art show again...

    I miss him.

Thank you Roadsterguy...and now, perhaps, as Superintendent, you should have a little discussion with those students on copyrights...remember, if it's ripped off -- someone, somewhere, some time will know the artist that originated it.

  26. Here's something I've been working on this week.Still isn't finished.I have to remove my old hood ornament to fit this one to the hood and then assemble it.
Cut from 1/2" optical grade Lexan(courtesy of the Grand Rapids hockey arena;one of their old windows)with a sabre saw and ground to rough shape on a combination 1" belt and disc sander;finished with a selection of files and sandpaper and polished with Mother's Mag Wheel Polish. Will be illuminated on the car(55 Pontiac).
Note to self:find a BETTER way to cut Lexan! One and one half HOURS to cut out 6 pieces.Damn stuff keeps fusing back together.

Newbie here. Nice images so far this week! (As usual!)

Here are a couple from me...

I did an early Ford recently for a client. He wanted 2 views, one realistic as possible and in a warehouse scene. This one was a real challenge to get the reflections, tire tracks, and shading to look real. Car was created in Illustrator, the photo from the web and tweaked in Photoshop.

This next one is the same car with 2-tone paint. I had to do this one fast so the Halibrands are photos dropped on. Background photo is from the web.

This one's for my Christmas cards this year. A hip Santa polishing his new sleigh, an early 70's GMC Tilt Cab with an open air roof line, Evergreen tinted glass, candy cane steering wheel, Christmas ornament wheels, sleigh bell option tank straps and 4 jiggawatt driving lamps. This one's illustrator too, the trees are pictures dropped on.
