Hey wassup everyone, I finally decided to finally join after hearing soo much about this in the magazine. I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm 28 and from Salinas, California...near the Monterey Bay area if that helps. I'm currently working on 2 cars, a 63 2 door Impala( almost done) and a 64 Impala convertible(half way there) but keeping an eye out for a 53 or 54 Chevy 2 door hardtop to fully Kustomize. If anyone is from this area, drop and line and feel free to email with any questions...I'm be more than happy to answer back. I hope to learn alot from you guys. Chris
Welcome to the HAMB! I am originally from your area. Lived on Clay St for years and remember cruisin Main St. You live in a great area for hot rodding as you are surrounded by great people like Cole Foster, Alan Smith, Danny Irby and Rod Powell......
Hi C4, I use to walk down Clay st for 4 yrs going to Salinas high and still take out my cars for a little cruise on those warm summer nights. Cole Foster, Rod Powell are really down to earth people as they don't mind you asking them questions at the local shows. They talk to you as if you are one of them....not an outcast. Thanks again for the welcome.
Hey Deadender60, your right about Salinas, if you not dodging cops, bullets, or gangbangers.....I'll be workin' on my rides Hey Juan, by chance would you have an older bro that has a 4 door 62 Impala by the name of Jesus? If so, I use to cruise with your bro back in the late 90's. I use to have an air-bagged light blue Oldsmobile Cutlass. If not....my bad. Anyways, thanks for the welcome.
I used to date a girl that worked atthe mall in Salinas... thats about all the Salinas stories I got. Welcome.
Welcome to a forum that will probanly become one of your favorite things in life if you are a true gearhead ,and into traditional hot rods. Even if you're not a full time gearhead you will more than likely spend a lot of time at this address! As far as good guys around salinas, Cole Foster , Juan and Jesus [Deadend magazine] , Rod powell, etc ; you got some really good folks to hang with there, enjoy and welcome again. waldo.
