WOW !.....my buddy has one of those from the same popular mechanics article !.....he's had it since he drove it to high school in the 60's, and he's slowly restoring it.....They were built from 4 dr sedans, and made into 2 seater roadsters......very cool.....we've never seen another one so I'll send him these pix if you don't mind.....Thanks....

It's the Orren Roadster out of Waco Texas built in the late 40's and put away in 1955 and pull out in 1998. Now resides in Austin Texas

I have posted some progress pictures on my website but nothing I thought was Hamb worthy. The common problem of time and money constraints have slowed things down drastically. However, the engine is in the home stretch and I'll post a video of it on the dynometer as soon as it's running. Hopefully sometime early next year.

I think I said this last time you posted this but that thing is cool. I remember it at the auction in Hershey when Blackhawk sold it.

Yeah , sorry. Didn't mean to bore people by posting it again, but we are in the process of moving and I ran across that picture of me picking up the car and thought it would fit nicely on this thread.

I too would like to see more pics of your car you found.

Here's mine. Built in the late 50's, bought by my dad in '62. Sat in a garage since the late sixties until a year ago when we got it up and driving for Mad Fabricators Volume 5

    More of a yard find...

Was an old hot rod. Had a V-8 of some sort and updated with 41 Ford parts...steering, brakes, rearend, pedals, etc. Fenders were laying on the ground in front of it.

Now it's in my barn, waiting...

This one belongs to a girlfriends grandma. I have been waiting patiently for it to be mine, maybe in a few years or so.... I even offered clean the garage, and take granny out once a month for a rootbeer float in it.... no dice yet!

As the poor old gal sits gathering dust and misc garage clutter:

Not as cool as most of these but my only "barn find" to date, a 1959 parkwood I paid 100.00 dollars for. bought it from the son of owner who had bought it 20 plus years ago for parts for his 59 el canimo.
Was chock full of parts including 49-51 mercury tailights and dash that I am using in my 30 model a sedan project.

  20. Some people may have seen this car already. I will credit the man who rodded this car in 1949 as soon as I can which is at Uraidla this Sunday.
The car now belongs to my brother. It's a desire fulfilled for himself to own steel gennie roadster- he always wanted a deuce but this'll do fine thanks.
It's a survivor. The paint is '49 nitro- however originally it was a cream coloured birthday present for a retail store manager's wife. All mods were done in '49 by the second owner.
The firewall now has fresh paint & general bay tidy is evident but all go- fast gear including heads are '49. My brother rebuilt brakes and engine and has freshened whole car. It'd been driven hard and it was'nt an easy fix- it's a hot- rod.
It'd be cool if he gets on here & tells some more- there's a coupla good yarns attached to this car.
There's a few more pics of this car on my '36 album- here @ HAMB

More of a garage find. The story I got was that a body shop owned it 30 years ago and started a frame off resto. Frame sand blasted and painted, new brake lines, stock front susp. It was sold to the guy I bought it from and his "Life partner" where it sat for 12 years because they couldn't put it together again (it was in baskets and boxes). Found it on Craigslist here in Michigan for $6000, had to buy it! 210 Hardtop (NEED SEATS BTW). Wide whites with caps were H.A.M.B. inspired...thank you. This is what I have so far.
