Customs HAMB Merc Club! who's in?????

Dang! where have I been? Missed this whole thing, 20 pages. I am in with a bone stock 50 and a 51 mostly stock but not running. I can't decide which one to start on.

Sorry Bad Bob for not getting back faster. ZZ502/502, 700r4 that was beefed a bit and a 9" out of a lincoln versaille 4 wheel discs brakes, tru-trac carrier with 373 gears.

I think I saw the red '51 fordor rippin down I-94 outa Detroit headin' west in or around Oct. 27. For curiousity let me know . I was headin' to Wyoming and phoned a buddy & said dig this shit -- I just saw a --- Headin' West.. On another note, I just installed a pair of "Traction Master bars" (Had 'em 6 years just never put them on. original 50's issue) . Made a big difference ( de- arched springs & 1" lowereing blocks - Stock suspension - no tunnel changes - Runs great).

 

Yes, that was probably Fat Hack. He drove the car down to Oklahoma from Dearborn, which was around 950 miles.

 

Ha Ha...yeah, that was me...in the bitter cold and driving in and out of rain showers all that day! The car performed flawlessly, though!

One look was all it took for me to want this car. Had two blowouts on the way home. Midnight I was taking wheels off from one car and putting them on the el camino so I could drive it to get the car yesterday. The rollback driver that took us home Friday night said he could bring it for $200 but I would not know as much about the car as I know now. The el camino will stay at his house until my wife can take me back for it. The guy bought the car in 2003 and never titled it, just drove it around his yard. Five years later I put gas in it and drive it home 75 miles busy bypass no less, had to control the car with all of the thumbs up, people honking their horns. It was a nice ride, at 62 made me feel like a kid again. I told the guy if I'm still living it would be at the James, Dean show in Fairmont in. Sept. It's not my dream of a 51 but it will be ok.

I'll join in. This is my 55 Montclair. 302/C4, 56 front bumper/grille. These pics are from this past spring(dates wrong). It's in trim black now except the roof. I drove this in my wedding last year, cooler than any limo you'd want to rent.

Bad Bob, your buddy's 4 door convertible has to be the best looking 4door convertible I have ever seen. I bought a 50 4door that a guy started cutting then found another car. It was a 4door chopped Lincoln made into a ht. I wanted to make mine a 2door with a Carson top but after looking at the one you posted I may save myself a lot of work.

54 Mercury Monterey the engine is a 289 I believe, I have to check the numbers.

Burny, Thanks I knew as soon as we pulled in the guy's driveway that I wanted it. Has anyone else had that same feeling? Every time the guy had his back to me I would look at my wife and shake my head in approval. On the way home she said I looked like one of those bobble heads.
