Hot Rods No Bigs-n-Littles Here...Lets See Some Same Size Tires On Hot Rods

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BloodyKnuckles, Nov 14, 2008.

  1. Same size all the way around works every once in a while on a hotrod. Most of the time it makes the car look like Roger Rabbit should be driving it.

  8. Guys,

Thanks for all the replies. I kinda figured it was a matter of time before the pics begin to show up. The cars posted are what I was thinking. I personally love the look.

Very occasionally someone gets it "just right" - not very often in my opinion. Most of the pics of "same size" tire combos I've seen in this string seem to me to either have fronts that are too big, or rears that are too small.

I'm a big & little guy, but to each his own.

Hey, it looks good on these kinda cars, too!!! But ifn the left front is smaller you could really get that "I'm gonna eat your ass up in the next left" look. Gary

    This car has it all.

Not sure if the tires are exactly the same size....but really close.

Here is Tom Culbertson's 31 coupe, built in 1991 just the way you see it. First hot rod and first car i've driven when i was 14 years old, cool car.

When I first put my truck together, I did the big and littles. But one time I had to put the bigs on the front, dont remember why, and it looked good. So I ended up getting more bigs for it. I am a fan of both. I prefer bigs on my truck, but BNL's have a place too. I'm torn in the middle on what is better. I'll run them both. Excuse the old pic, and chrome wheels.

Take ANY of these cars shown with the same size tires and split the difference... slightly smaller for the front and taller for the rear and every one of them will look better... every one.... except for the dragging dog's ass ones that are too low to begin with... :D

Hot rods have rake. It was about gear ratios and more speed and it was born out of necessity.

And if they ARE the same height, then the rears should at least be wider or knobby for better traction...
