My point is this. Don't expect me to beleive that car was outside for more than a couple of days, and DON'T expect me to beleive the tires You have on it now, in several pictures just happended to be laying there along witha couple of GRAND in Carbs, intake and scoops. Don't tell me that anyone is going to leave it outside without those cutesy little covers for the Injection that are in another picture, under a shitty green tarp.

You want to see something dissolve before Your very eyes? leave a parachute outside in the sun for about 2 days. it will change color before You know it happened, and the stuff under the folds will be darker. if it's open for more than a week, it's FUCKED.

Slicks Might stay inflated for a day or two, but beyond that, they go flat.

Those slots would look like a powdered donut inside of a month.

and sure, the tach has seen better days, but the one I had bolted to the column inside my car looked like shit before 6 months was up. Why was it laying there? who knows.

If it was indeed rolled outside to make room for another car, remember this. the previous owner knows it's history, and therefore knows the SIGNIFICANT dollar figure attached to a dragster. even if the motor was clobbered, You don't let an injection set up just sit like that. and since when would any one of us take a loaded 6 carb intake outside and set it in the weeds? I assure You, wherever it was, there was still room for that intake. (Though I will admit throwing an edelbrock carb as far as I could wing it once-But that was junk when I started.)

Check it out guys. I found this abandoned dragster in the weeds. They were growing out of the carbs and everything!!!

 

Not necessarily. I used to park my stocker outside because I didn't have room for it in my garage. My non-tubed good years or hoosiers never went flat in the scorching Arizona summer sun. It didn't matter if they were new or had 200 runs on them. I'm not defending the dragster in the weeds guy, but merely stating facts.

Lux I agree with you but as Buckeye says you are wrong about the tires. I have a set of M&H slicks that still are inflated and they have sat for 15 years.

 

I have a kitty.

 

No air in these tires at all yet they still look fully inflated hold the car up just fine !This is just how it got sold for 3500$the car has a New England history to go with it

 

Don't know about being out in the weeds, but by the looks of the tank and the 1/4 eliptical front spring , I would say its a Jim Davis chassis, maybe late 60's

Well it looks like this one has run out. The guy has a neat car and good looking daughters, thats his story and he should stick to it. Best of luck to Big Boar and his cars.

 

I looked at his previous posts witht he girls modeling in the pics, he states he found it and got it running. even doing hole shots up the driveway. he identifies it as an early 60's jim davis with an original dragster trailer.

trailer looks to new (to me) and the plug wires in ALL the pics are late model taylor 90 deg mag wires. it's got to be a staged pic, maybe trying to replicate how he found it last year???
