Notice it's a touring front half. What do you guys think of keeping it touring front with a roadster back???
Right now that one's just sittin'. She was cheap, couldn't pass it up. I have a Y-block and some other later parts that could turn it into a 50/60's hot rod. I really like the flathead stuff though. We'll see what happens. I've considered putting it on my truck chassis with the V8 flatty a couple times:rolleyes: Get some headroom for my girlfriend, she's 5'11", good thing she ain't wide too.:D

I really dig your grampa's car. My grampa Billy used to tell some great Model T stories, Wish I had picks to go with the stories.

I like the touring that VanHorton posted pics of too. I'd like to see engine and inside shots of that one.

  11. Clayton,

I'm really loving what you have done with your T! These new photo are great; all you need now are a pair of goggles, an off white cotton duster, and a some gauntlet gloves!

This past Friday I found a Model T chassis with a roadster pickup tub (it's missing the bed), a pretty cool vintage cylinder gas tank where the bed once was, the engine, and artillery wheels. If I can pick this T up, I'm certainly going to try to build something along the lines of what you have done!

    Carnutofthedecade,

Go for it my friend! If she has a good engine, you could build a real mean T 'banger real cheap and have a lot o fun with it!

If you need any advice or any questions on your T, just post or PM me.

  13. Will do! Looking forward to the video too!

    Ramblur!

Nice old track T pics! They remind me of my Grandfather's collection that I was given. All early Drag racing 1948-1956 of the big local tracks up here in their early days....hundreds and hundreds of photos.

I love that picture of Multy Aldrich's car. I was so jazzed when I took this picture of my own T, and it had a similar look to Multy's. Totally unplanned, except maybe in my subconscious.

Talkin' to me? It's a SBC/4 speed. Hardly period correct for the look of the car.

Of course I'm aware of the differences between the two cars. I thought the angle of the shot and the overall proportions of the cars were remarkably similar. If you don't think so, it's fine with me.

Clayton, did your modifications alter the wheel base at all?

    Tim,

Yes. By "undersling" the front and rear suspension (which moves the front axle forward of it's original mount and the rear axle aft of it's stock mount), I ended up stretching it by approx 5 to 6 inches total. Most of the guys in the old days would shorten the frame to keep the wheel base the same as stock...but I liked the longer wheelbase look on mine.

..And to all you H.A.M.B.ers out there, as I promised, a new video is available on you tube.

    Enjoy!
