Hello from southern OK. I grew up in OKC with my dad trying to build cars in the heart of Bethany. The city council did not like our cars sitting around, but we had fun anyway. Now I live in Ardmore and I also could not care less about OU football. I will have to look into this Straycats run, Maybe I can shoot for getting the Model A running for that.

I grew up in Verdigris and went to High School in Claremore.....so the Oklahoma threads always catch my eye. Both of my parents were born in Oklahoma so I have a lot of family scattered from Tulsa to OKC.

I am still looking for any information about the OKEY POKEYS car club of Oklahoma City. I found a club plaque but I have not herd of this club. It has a turtle picture,on top of the shell is 3 97 carbs with a header coming out of the side. Also any stories about old car clubs in Oklaforneo

Hey trammel, I also have a car club plaque from the good old days, the one I have split51 found for me in a garage sale in Guthrie called the Slow Pokes with a turtle. I was told it was an OSU based club??? Now get this, the bottom of this plaque is hand inscribed with the guys name and address and phone number in the old 60's style of BU2-1234 instead of the modern 282-1234! Was told bo Earlis Green of guthrie that it was on a model A Roadster back in the day.

Not to hijack the thread, I also have a car club jacket from OKC " The Tornadoes" and on the sleeve it has the guys name with the date of 1959! Any one???
