Finally! after 40 years my father got his 32 roadster he has owned since highschool back on the road.. I talked him out of "unchanneling" the car and keeping it as he and his buddy made it in 1960.. 3 speed Zephyr tranny with a lightened Weber flywheel.. 8BA flatty with merc crank, Mag, Strom 48's, Edelbrock heads and manifold.. 10:1 compression.. S/W winged gauges--all saved with the car since the 50's.. As soon as he drove it out of the garage and down the hill he said it was "just like old times"
"unchanneling" I hate that word ? should be a shootable offence neat roadster ! check out http://www.deuceslimited.com/
That is awesome!! Have any before (your dad with the car back then) and now? To me, this is the greatest part of hot rodding. Sharing of history, and making some.. Cheers!
Thanks Jimmy-- I love your land speed pic of the old dry lakes roadster.. we plan on driving this car to Bonneville speed week next year..
Best time machine on the planet. Congrats to your pops not only for saving it all of this time but for getting it back on the road. I'll bet if he were to be truthful he's sorry he waited so long to getting it running again. Frank
Isn't that a 33-34 Roadster windshield frame and posts or is it a set of custom aftermarket posts with a 32 frame?
I was wondering about that same thing! I finished mine same time as his dad stored his 32, (1968), been chasing those lines ever since, long as I can push the hyd. clutch in & shift the 4spd.----I'll be happy!!!!---------------Don
Awesome car guys... Your pops should be very proud... Not only does he have a great car, but for years to come both young and old will get to see what a period car looks like... stuff like this makes me happy to be involved with hot rods. great job guys... now more PICS.
