It was actually converted to just rear wheel drive. You couldn't do that in an awd car.

What kind of exhaust is that? It sounds tits.

 

WRX STI's are fabulous cars even in stock form; if you ever have the opportunity to ride in/drive one, DON'T pass it up!

 

It's still AWD. You can clearly see smoke coming off the front wheels in many of the shots. STI's and other Subarus have an adjustable center diff, it's probably just set to rear bias.

That is some wild stuff. Wish I had something to do that stuff in.

 

BTW, there are other videos of this guy. He was on the Stunt Junkies show on TV doing the world's longest Rally Car jump, and there is also a hillarious video on his site of him annoying snow boarders on a ski slope in the car.

 

WOW! that made me get a rush just watching!!!!! that would be fun to try with are stuff on a closed course like that! reminds me of that crazy ghost rider hyabusa video on u tube, I must be getting old ,I wouldnt want to ride with that dude!!!!

Watch it again - smoke pouring off the front tires, they are definitely spinning. Remember that these modern AWD Rally cars have computer controlled splits to the front and rear drive.

For those that don't know Ken Block was one of the founders of DC shoes which was sold to Quicksilver clothing co. He is the Chief Brand Officer. He started rallying when good friend Travis Pastrana (the guy that did the double back flip on a motorcycle at the X Games) got him involved. He has prov-en to be a quick study and good driver and all that money for the best equipment sure doesn't hurt.

My wife just went outside and locked her car, she came in and said dont get any stupid ideas. I said you dont even have a sti, you have an outback. She said dont do anything stupid and walked away.

 

That level of driving skill is an ART form, for sure!
I've been in a couple of Rally cars, even navigated a couple of times, but nothing to match that!
