Hello everyone, I've browsed this great site a few times before and decided to make it official. I have a 56 Lincoln Premeire coupe, mild kustom work in progress. Hope to meet some more people with lincolns. Jeff
Low-Linc Welcome to the H.A.M.B. I think you'll enjoy your stay. I also know there are tons of folks with Lincolns. Great having another Central Coast kustom guy on board.
...us Lincoln guys got to stick together....incidently, I've got a '56 frame and running gear under my '46 Lincoln....it's buried somewhere in this post: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304011&highlight=lincoln
Thanks bgbdlinc! Whats the secret to posting pics? have any pics of your '46?, Also, I'm looking for some lincoln door push buttons from the 40's, any ideas where I can find some?
...when you go into photobucket 1) pick the right album (your link above shows pics of your bike, 2) under each picture in the album display there are 3 or 4 boxes with options -click on the lowest box (IMG) and the image will be copied (the function will flash and fade), 3) have a post open on the HAMB, and paste the link that was copied (you will see the link but not the picture yet). Repeat for each pic, say something intelligent, and hit "Go Advanced" below to see the layout, spelling mistakes, and fix everything (you should see pics by this time). Hit "Post Quick Reply" and you're done..... This is my '46 on a '56 Chassis and drivetrain......
Welcome....good to have more 805 people on here You should roll your lincoln out to the Gamblers cruise in next saturday. Here's the link to the post. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299576
Thanks bgbdlinc for the explaination, I think I get it now. Your 46 is looking good, how long til she's finished?? Did your 46 originally come with the door buttons? or did it have door handles. I want to shave my door handles, but install the old 40's door buttons.
Get in line for door buttons. Theres a few threads about guys saying they repop them then offering no info on purchasing a set. Other than that, welcome. Nice Lincoln. Guy around here has a '56 similar to yours. Gorgeous cars.
...I hope to have it on the road next summer but there is a shitload of work to do.....the original car came with door buttons inside and out but they were long gone when I got the car.....I've seen a few on eGay (competitive and expensive).....good luck... ...and oh ya, welcome to the HAMB (cool pic with the trailer)
Thats beautiful! I'm jealous, i'm a lincoln guy at heart but dont have an old one right now, my daily driver is a town car and my old car is a 57 chevy, but no 57 linc yet.
