History Rare Pontiac race car found

I've heard word that $200K is going to seen by the end of this auction and that actually would be a good buy at that price. Add $150K to restore it and your final figure comes in at $350K. The surviving SD station wagon sold for over $656,000 last year and the only other 2-door survivor (the Delorean car) has sold for over $400,000 recently. This is, without doubt, the ultimate Pontiac Musclecar. Sure, there's lots of Ford Thunderbolts, aluminum-nosed Max Wedges and Hemis, around fifteen Z-11 Impalas, and I think about 8 of the 12 Swiss Cheese '63 Catalinas are still around. But this Tempest, it's in a class all to itself being 1-of-2-survivors left from a production of SIX! The next owner of this car will have the ultimate in bragging rights and the ability to say "Yep it's mine and there's only one other in the entire world!" This is probably one of the most exciting auctions to ever happen on E-Bay and I'm worried about my computer locking up during all the activity that's going to be happening at auction end! On a side note, I really expect the next several weeks/months to be interesting as people start paying more attention to old drag cars as they may have their own gold mine right under their own noses. Who ever suspected that Grandpa's old drag car behind the barn is worth so much money! I hope this brings some lost cars out of the woodwork.

 

Where did you get your info that there is only 2 survivors left out of six ?

 

2nd of all, there were 8 sedans total, 6 white, a silver car and blue M/T car.

Well, it's been common knowledge for years. The Delorean car was the only other known survivor from the production run until this Stan Long Pontiac car just surfaced. The other 4 are either destroyed or just plain missing, and after 45 years, if they haven't surfaced yet, than they are probably gone forever. Yeah, I did forget to include the two prototypes that were built before the production run of the six white cars in December. One being the blue M/T, and the other being the silver one that Bill Blair had, last I knew. I really like that one!
