I just saw these pictures while surfing the Classic Trucks site. It is not my truck. This guy is lucky. You can read the letter here if you'd like: http://www.classictrucks.com/features/0808clt_1956_ford_f100/index.html
ThaT SUCKS! As a builder I can see so many hours and so many invested $$ down the tubes. Glad he's OK.
Wow,thats unreal. He's so lucky to walk away, but still what a loss, and with so much family history, sucks.
My senior year of high school I drove mine and my dads 48 ford pickup and skinned it up and I remember how horrible I felt and it was just a fender that got crunched. I feel for this guy and I'm glad that he is ok.
no the 2 steel rails with the wooden ties between them are not a parking space , man looks like a freight train hit it ,
That is just saddening. This is the price paid for wanting to drive the vehicles. If you value it that much you stick it in the garage and build another one LIKE it to drive, otherwise we all know the risks.
take off the busted stuff and start all over again..... that is the American way. BTW: OUCH. gas cap looks okay though....
thats painful to look at,,,,,, doesnt look like much bondo in that truck,,,, looks like it was a nice one,,,
That is too funny. But seriously, glad he lived to tell about it. This only serves to confirm my fears about driving my old cars; that is that some jack ass will loose control of their car and take mine out in the process.
That was my first impression, too, but wasn't gonna say anything EDIT: Just went and read the story, wow, fresh truck couple of hundred miles, then this. But it sounds like he walked away, the truck did save the guy. Nothing to save.
Looks like he just finished a Nascar Craftsman Truck Series race. Except there needs to be more duct tape holding it together.
THANK YOU!!!! 16 posts without a remark about the wheels, i was beginning to worry! it sucks about the truck though, looks like it had a pretty cool chop on it.
The more i look at the pic, i notice the wheel are not even scuffed or the tires are not flat. How is that possible with all the damage around them. God must really be a gold-chainer, or a mini-trucker to save those wheels and let that truck parish
Ahhhh. I've seen worse on Epay advertised as an "almost running" rat rod! But seriously... if you can walk away from it, it'll be OK.
God that sucks. That was a beautiful truck, even with the wheels you guys are bagging on. Lucky guy to be alive, RIP to the Ford..
It is amazing he survived the crash. It must not be his time to die. I hope he had good insurance coverage on it.I am a body man that has seen and fixed some bad wrecks but this one sends chills down my spine. Dam good thing he was in a full body vehicle with a lot of metal around him.
