its after midnight and no one has started one yet so here are some pieces I finished up for the pistons and paint show

and last but not least some eye candy

Thats a good idea for a trophy Matt, first I've seen like that..

I've been busy doing some stuff to put in new "local brand" clothing store, I'm pretty excited about it. I'm putting some buckles and keychains in there, but they want some of the bike and car sculptures too Anyone in the Detroit area should check it out, you can pm me, it opens in two weeks.

The "Pinewood" hot rod...it's seems to remind everyone of a pinewood derby car

Here's a few from my art opening last Saturday night.




"Genuine Ford Parts" -spraypaint and stencils on 9" x 31" skate decks.




"1965 Econoline" -acrylics, spray paint and india ink on 3ft x 4ft canvas.

.....also this is off topic but I was at a skate shop here in texas and they had a shoe called the half cab those arent yours are they? If so I may have to go buy a pair since they come in almost the same color blue as our van

Here’s my latest mess in charcoal...this time the reference is a great photo by Joe Lingrey, taken at El Mirage c. 1949 (I think). I’ve been trying to find him, with no success yet, if anyone can put me in touch with him I would really appreciate it. Anyhoo, the drawing is 7 feet wide by 4 feet high, plenty of tweaking yet to do but it’s getting there. Because someone usually asks, no, I don’t use a projector. That would be way too logical. Thanks! Molly

I finally got some good photographs of some of my stuff so I could get some prints made. I'll be selling the prints (and hopefully some originals too!) at pistons and paint. I'll put some in the classifieds after the show.

My contribution to the Pistons and Paint art auction.

 

It's been a while Molly. Glad you're back, we've missed you. Great roadster drawing.

 

Here's a sketch I drew by accident. I was working up an underlay drawing from which to
draw the bubble top, the idea being to see the interior from an interesting angle. I think
the modified turned out better than the show car. The bubble top is just a quick color
study I whipped out in Photoshop over my pencil sketch.

Hey, friday art! A lot of great stuff here already, as usual! I guess i just got one auto related this time...just a "in between" all the other stuff!

That is PERFECT and it still needs tweaking? UGH, I threw all my art supplies out the window just now. How dare you show me my artistic failings like this.......

Inspired by a moth.
Ever see a Luna moth? They are the coolest looking bug.
Mint green, swoopy curves and super rare here in Ohio.
That's what inspired this future machine. I call it the LunaRod.

 

Found a little time to throw this together this week.

Acrochicken, thanks! Originally, i wanted to make it in a different angle with more of the nose, but with lack of time and so on it turned out like that!
