I feel your pain, recently had a political sign supported by 2x4's fall on my Riv. I parked in the grass to avoid dents and dings and the wind blew the sign! Small dent and scratched paint on a perfect body w/ a 5k paint job. Broke my heart, but the best advice I can give you is, "it CAN be fixed." At least it wasn't someone running a red light and destroying the car. I always try to find the positive! Good luck to you!

That sucks, glad YOU are not broken. Two things: if the power co. will let you have the pole...make a Tiki out of it. Two, Your ride can be rebuilt...take care.

Know how you feel. That really sucks.:(

Best therapy in the world is get out to the garage and start the rebuild.

Looks like that power pole was old and brittle anyway. they should give you a half price discount on that thing.

Dude, i hate to hear about this kind of stuff. Its cliche, but at least no one was seriously hurt. At least the body and motor are still good to go. Youll get her back on the road, good luck man.

I am with Mark, didnt look as bad on a cell phone pic. Damn.... She is repairable.

So does this mean we wont be meeting up next weekend?

How bad is the frame? HOpefully we can fix the frame then just replace the parts as needed. Were your steering arms dropped? could you use a bolt on steering? I have a 41-48 spindle that doesnt have a steering arm. If you can use it, then it is on it's way.

    Good luck bro.

    Great attitude!
I am sure You & the car will be back better than before.

I got very lucky some years back in a similar situation - It Gave me a new perspective on things for sure.

The saving grace in my situation was that I had been given one of the work cars temporarily ( it was a complete write off ) - had it been my 64 Falcon that I had at the time I may not be here today ( it didn't have seat belts )

Best of luck for the rebuild!

Hmmmm...Jay, at least you weren't on some cell phone yapping when you did this, WERE YOU?

I'll go through my shop stuff to see what I have, that you can have, that you'll need for parts. Paul will probably have a bigger stash than I do.

But you're ok from the sounds of it, which is the best thing. Sorry to hear that your maiden voyage after rebuild didn't quite work out like you planned.

Be sure to P.M. me, or get in touch if you need this old man to come down and help you out putting her back together again.

Glad to hear your not badly hurt. Looks like a winter project. Thats awful.
I hope insurance was on it. I didn't read the whole thread.

  29. First, glad you're alright.
Now, I think you should convert the pix to black and white... old timey!
It musta been an eerie sight for anyone driving down that road. I can just picture it, like a time warp to 1955.

    Keep your chin up!

Cuz he was on gravel

Jay, glad to hear you didn't get hurt. Scary stuff but if you're not hurt that's all that matters. Insurance will not only take care of the car but the cost of any property damage including that pole. Good luck with the repairs, I know it will be better then before. xoxox
