Yes I finally got a freebe worth celebrating!!! One of the best hot rod guys I think I'll think I'll ever know.
great looking Poly. Glad for you. Nothing like making heat in a engine that has not been started in years. Let us know whenyou fire it up.
Whatcha' got, 1956 315? I'll be watching this thread with great interest as I have a tall deck dodge poly to build. That's a cool '50 too. Your signature, however, is confusing. Look, here's the little "confused" emoticon thing:
Actually the Hemi cam & intakes are a bolt in. I'd junk the tranny & get a 392 adaptor & put a 727 on it.
There is a wealth of information and parts info at www.forwardlook.net on those engines. That's where I found the 4BBL intake and carb for my '56 315. I see your valve cover decals say "Red Ram" where on mine it says "Super Red Ram". Anyone know what the difference is?
I think what you have there is a 1955/56 DODGE 240 or 270 CI. RED RAM POLY. Won't know for sure until you get it apart and find some numbers. Keep us informed. I have a 270 Poly. that looks like yours. Most people don't have a clue what it is when they see. It's different and I love different. Bob
1955 270ci Bedix Stromberg Model WW 2bbl carb 2 speed powerflite trans. Sorry want to post more but out of town for work and connection is crap.
