That is cool. Look at all the different dies.... Would LOVE to have one... Oh, and yeah Chip Foose. That's cool too.
Yeah we wouldn't want too many venders who are donating hundreds of dollars of equipment as a prize for tech week on here. It's also very important to post on a thread you don't agree on so that it comes back up to the top for everyone to see.
Yeah, especially businesses that sell tools for those of us who use them instead of being them. I would love to have a Pullmax or a power hammer if I had the $$$$$ How come you guys made the throat so short on that power hammer anyway???
The power hammer was designed and is manufactured by our own Chris Rusch. I'm not sure why he designed it like that, I could ask. How big of a throat are you looking for in a power hammer?
I might be of some help on this. The MH-19 Power Hammer was intended to originally come in at a throat depth of 24", but was reduced due to engineering and space limitations. In order for the throat depth to increase, the entire machine has to grow exponentially due to it's own design. This factor would severely limit the marketability of such a large machine due to ceiling height and space restrictions of our customers, not to mention a very tall working height. Another huge deterrent would be the significantly higher purchase price. That being said the Hammer has proven itself to be a very unique and durable machine capable of almost anything you can dream up. It operates similar to a Pullmax or Eckhold with a "solid hit", a Yoder with a "slapping hit" and also includes an English Wheel attachment. Check out the site, www.bii1.com, for some video footage of the machine in action. Thanks for the time, Jon Newberg - Sales Manager Baileigh Industrial
I wish we could vote on 2 tech posts. I really like the guys 32 frame build, but then again the 32 roadster cab is a fine tech also. Thanks for offering up a nice prize for the winner, it has real brought out some great tech posts. I cant really think that we ever had a better tech week-s.
I'd say the $20,000 price somewhat limits the marketability also, I know it does for me! Although I'll say it before someone else does, Get what you pay for!
Hmmmmmm, i noticed that the photo of Chip using the hammer is dated 05/09'2009! Whoa, are we getting a glimpse into the future here???
That is a bitchin hammer, I use a company called T.M. technologies for all my sheet metal shaping supplies, they sell a pneumatic power hammer, that kicks ass, I bought one three years ago and I love it. Don’t let the fact it looks like a planishing hammer fool you. Its power hammer, it can shape 1/8 aluminum no problem; the price is affordable if your series about metal shaping. The top of the line model is about $4500. http://www.tinmantech.com
Oooops, didn't even notice that till I posted the picture up. Kind of embarrassing. Get a chance to meet Chip and take his picture and not even realize the date is wrong on the camera.
We will in the near future. Right now, we have an 8" http://www.bii1.com/metal-forming/shrinker-stretcher-16.htm
Hey, don't sweat it, man! Just put your logo over the date - it'll kind of serve as a copyright or somethin'. ~Jason
