I'll roll in around 5pm. with or without the Burb. I haven't been cleared to drive yet since surgery. But we'll be there!

You know what sucks about Lake Havasu?
    EVERYTHING!

Seriously, EVEN IF you accept the 120 temperatures, the freakin' wind blows like crazy. It's like standing in a blast furnace. The last time (probably THE last time) I was there, was 15 years or so ago and the only thing that's tolerable is hanging at one of the bars by the bridge. The total lack of landscaping (at least back then and probably now) is utterly depressing. I had a chance to work there at some architectural firm, looked long and hard and decided Phoenix is where I need to stay.

    Sorry, back on target.

    that's funny....

A friend just moved there from here (where it seldom hits 100)....I think it has to do with the fact that Havasu has a LAKE! he digs watersports.

  6. how many from here will be at "cars in the park" in SV...we rented the shady dell for the weekend for the OTHG Tucson guys

  7. In many respects, the Dez has weather cycles much like the rest of the country.

Spring is great, summers can be hot, learn to work around it.
Fall is great as well and winter in the teens is common around here.
Have to learn to work around that as well.

Northern climes have the same disparity's on the temperature scale, just that with summers being lower in temp than they are here, winters are way lower.

No matter where you go in the continental US, you're gonna find a mini-max temp spread of 90-100 degrees F.

    Cept for Hawaii.
Got a friend who lives in Kauai.

"Hey Miss G, what's the temp there?"
    "85* F."

    "What's the temp tomorrow?"
    "85*."

    "Yesterday?"
    "85*."

    "Geez, does it ever change?"
    "A little bit.
A few weeks ago, we went up to the park on the mountain.
It was 65* and we froze our tushies off"

"Do you even own a jacket?"
    "I think so, not sure.
Mostly I need another dresser for shorts and tanktops...."

  9. Was in tucson for over 30 years now in central phoenix not too far from ElPalcko's shop and Phoenix has lot of shows. The peoria swap meet is this weekend and on the 26st is a swap meet in mesa.

Glen does not go to the show in scottsdale because it reminds him of where he works.

    NW Phoenix for me.

I lived in L.A. for 8 yrs., and I like our little hell-hole. Although the cheap housing a few years ago seemed to offset the climate, as I've recently noticed a lot more goddamn cry-babies living here! You don't like it... MOVE TO DETROIT! Sheesh...

You'd think our smooth, open roads and arid, rust-free climate would have real car guys dancing their pants off!
