Another Mesanite here. I generally hit the Saturday night show in the Kmart parking lot, i.e. southeast corner of Hampton and Power Rd. Had a storm move in last Saturday night that made a lot of folks leave early although it did cool the air nicely. I've been to the Pavillions a few times but you have to get there early (3 PM) or your not likely to get a spot. They tend to group cars as well so all Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Minors, Prowlers, bikes, etc. have to be parked together. I'm just not that organized!
Only 99F today. Fall is just around the corner!

  6. North Glendale, keeping a low profile.

  7. Out in the San Pedro Valley in Benson, Arizona. East of Tucson & North of Tombstone & Sierra Vista. Cooler summers and colder winters in this area of the state. Life is good!

  8. Downtown P-ho checking in... (Hi Jerry, -n- kurtis! xxoo)

We'd love to see a bunch of HAMB'ers at the party...

  9. Tempe here...

I've been here 17 years or so.

The Scottsdale car show is about as good as it gets for a free car show. I'd guess way over hundred cars, probably closer to two hundred. So, you'll always get clowns in new 'vettes, ricers and such. East Mesa/Power is good, so is the Arizona and Ocotillo. Actually, there are so many of these car shows around it's hard to remember them all.

You pussies in the Valley of the Sun don't know what heat is. How about a July day a few years ago when it reached 127 here. Was still 119 at 9:00 PM.

Oh yeah, it was a dry heat. :D

Apache Junction and once in a while to the Power Road cruise (Power and Hampton) and very seldom to the gold chainers at the Pavilion. I love the weather here. It's just like every where you go.............if it gets a little un-comfortable outdoors, head inside.
Oh! We had a couple of FED's at the Pavilion a month or so ago and fired them off after dark. Like drawing flies to a shit house.

  25. Lake Havasu thermometer.

Note the top end of the scale.

Most thermometers of this type have a top end of 120* F.

Pretty sure Bullet Nose sent me the pic a couple years back.

    Arizona temps are easy.
If Phoenix is gonna be 104, Kingman (@3300' altitude) will be around 92-95.

And if Kingman is gonna be 92-95, Laughlin - down the hill at about 500' altitude -is gonna be 105-107 or so.

Prescott will be in the mid 80's.

Flagstaff will be nice . . .until January, then they have lots of white stuff.

You do get used to it.
Get up early, work until the heat drives you out.
Don't work outside in the sunshine unless it's real early, save that stuff for the winter months.

That said, last Tuesday - one week after the topess run to Seligman - I put the top on the 32 and went down to Laughlin for lunch - and a couple hands of Keno.
105 down there, roadster ran at 200* F in town, got up to 205* at the top of the hill 12 miles away.
    Trans hit 195*.

Leaving Laughlin, you gain altitude pretty quick and about 1000' or so temps drop down to only a hundred or so.

About 92* ambient at the top of the hill, cool wind so life was easy.

A meet for lunch may be a do-able deal in Seligman.
It's a 50's oriented town with lots of old cars parked here and there.
It's also the north end of the Route 66 Fun Run done in spring so the town understands the hot rod and custom bit.

Tourist oriented, lots of cafes, burger stands, souvenir shop etc.

  30. I've been looking for you.

Couple weeks back at donut run you commented that the worlds best burger was in Seligman.

I didn't get a chance to ask which cafe.

    So which one was it?

Might be out near your place with the roadster today.

Gotta make a tomato run to Mile 68.
