About a month ago, I drove my roadster for the first time to our club's (Cheaters) car show.

    You know the feeling:
You're so excited to drive it, and at the same time all you can think about is every nut, bolt, wire, etc.. "Did I tighten this? Did I fill that? Fuck, I hope this stops. ...and on and on...

Well, my 35 minute maiden voyage went off without a hitch.
Moving it 43 feet across the parking lot was a different story, though. The dash started on fire due to using the wrong gauge wire on the ampmeter. Then a bad ground with the headlights, followed by a charging issue.

Fast Forward a few short weeks later: Everything's tight, charging, stopping, and running smooth.

I wanted to accomplish two things with this post.
    1) show pictures of my car, because I'm proud of what I've built
    2) thank all of the people that helped me along the way. Whether it was turning a wrench, explaining how to do something, given me advice, parts, or beer- thank you. I sincerely appreciate it.

So, thank you to: JonnyCola, Bobbleed, Cas, CheaterJack, CheaterChris, CheaterCarl, Kurt, Rick, Jon, Dowie, Luke, Dad, and anyone else I am forgetting.

The car is of course still a work in progress. Future plans include a professional interior, new gauges, and other little odds and ends.

    Hot rods kick ass.

    -Jake

    BADASS. CLEAN and simple!!
Hey, question though..... How many people are in the trunk? In the last pic, it looks like at least a few people are trying to claw their way out through the seatback!

    ha ha- that's funny!

the seat back is just temporary.... I had to cut it down and then we glued (which was a mistake) the material to the cut down foam.. ha ha- it took me a second to figure out what you were talking about!

    thanks, btw

  9. Hell of a nice car. You are to be commended for not channeling the shit out of it, and destroying the proportions. As one who was there, I can say, your car is an excellent example of a "back in the day" hot rod. I'm a little worried about possible bump steer with the drag link angle, but other than that, ya done good!!

Thanks, I just tried to make it as simple as possible.

The dash is a cut down '39 ford deluxe.
    Y-blocks are where it's at!
