Detroit Autorama Indy Road Rockets Hunnert car Gas City/ Fairmount, Indiana; nobody on here ever talks about this show but it is by far my favorite. Three day event over two small towns. Fairmount is the home town of James Dean and they draw more kustom mercs than you'll see anywhere else in the country. Some gold chainer stuff and some muscle car stuff but there is thousands of cars and two pretty good swaps. Excellent people make it a ton-O-fun and you get to cruise all over the fairgrounds. cut and paste to check some pics at www.JamesDeanDucktailRun.com http://www.myspace.com/jamesdeanducktailrun

There are some definately good shows already posted. I would reccomend Day of the Drags at Academy Speedway in Temple TX. Little strip in the country with wooden bleachers, lots of pre 64 cars, vendors, dragsters. Small town feel but a hell of a good time. Its put on by the Kontinentals on Oct 18th &19th.
Jalopy Showdown in Latimore U.S. 30 Reunion, York PA Saturday, Beaver Springs Dragway Sunday Funny Car Reunion, Englishtown N.J. Philidelphia Modifiers, Atco N.J. Hell on Wheels, National Trails Dragway, Ohio Jalopy Showdown Drags, Beaver Springs Notice a pattern here? We would rather be at a track than standing in a hot ass parking lot!
Dewey Lonestart round up Salina KKOA Ft. Scott HAMB drags ( not really but a "gotta do") (any of Mickys deals)
CHRR is now the only must see for me. I go to others, but nothing compares. It's simply the best combination of friends, traditional venue, traditional rods, nitro, racing, hotrod history, swap meet treasures and pretty women I've ever seen. Famoso is magic, every time I go there I feel I'm 18 again (until I look in a mirror). Last year I drove down with my brother in his windlowless Model A, the first car event we've attended together in years, and it was an experience I'll never forget.
Bakersfield CHRR is definitly at the top of my list. have missed only one Goodguys Western nationals in Pleasanton in 22(?) years. people that are too cool to go to this show are really missing something. Billetproof Antioch. Santa Maria if I can afford it. Vultures Asphalt invitational - Newark Strangers BBQ - San Jose Road Zombies
3rd Annual SCRAP DRIVE, traditional show/swap hosted by the Tin Butchers in Belevidere, Illinois, June 13th, 2009. a growing show, sure to be even better in 09. ...check out the HAMB calendar.
