personally, i cant stand seein plug wires draped all ovr nice valve covers. plus, its a pain to get the covers off when covered with a wire web.

Maybe because they were made in 1955 and there are a host of original built 50's Hot Rod's that were built with them.......

A pair of vintage Cal Custom valve covers filed smooth between the fins, a Brodix intake smoothed out with abrasives, and an old Enderle timing cover got this 1965 327 to start to smile. I've recently been detailing an old Hurst motor mount for it.

Then we get a little crazy.

I did this to see if I could. I used two weeks of evenings, a die grinder, and a D/A sander to turn this cast-iron tall-deck 427 block into this. The intake and heads took longer. The block, heads, intake, and valve covers were all rough sand castings, so it took some work to get them all even.

There's more about the shiny rat here: http://www.roadsters.com/power/

Here's the coupe that one of them is going in: http://www.roadsters.com/coupe/

Here's my 60' Pontiac 389 that's coming along. Never used Weiand intake and sum NOS Cal Custom covers. Rebuilt Carter AFB carb. Some of the replaced parts are NOS (Horn relay, regulator, rad cap) except Oil and Temp senders, belts/hoses. Rebuilt P/S pump and generator. I did the distributor with NOS parts too! I have a Mallory dual point that I'll pop in from time to time

Note: you can see where it sticks out a little in the front. It's no big deal, but alot of work went into it, to make it right and close to the original. I had the cast Iron 2bbl prior.
