This was mine from probably 1964. I bought it with a Merc flathead in it and put a 265 Chevy in it. It was very typical of the cars from then with the red wheels and a black & white tuck and roll interior. The drip rail was removed from behind the doors back and the rear fenders were molded in. I never did get it running because a '40 Deluxe coupe came along with a J-2 Olds. I bought the coupe and sold the 2 door.

Mine's pretty stock right now but I'm working on it. It does have a merc flathead on it. I haven't taking my own picts yet, this is from the ad from where I bought it.

Added where I want it to set photo as well.

Just a thought, but that upper photo looks earlier than 1961. It could be that this particular copy of that photo wasn't made until '61 but I'm just guessing. Looks almost like the Rose Bowl parking lot.

I thought the same thing. Film roll must have been in the camera that long.. or was lost or whatever. All cars in the background are early to (max) mid 50's

I missed the biggest clue: the license plate. That's a pre-1956 plate so there's the proof that it's not a 1961 photo.

Super old thread but I would love to see some new photos being thrown in.

A few of ours to get the ball/keyboard rolling.

Here is a '40 sedan at a Russetta Lakes meet in 1950. It was raced by Bob Rounthwaite of the Glendale Coupe And Roadster Club. Typical for that time, the sedan was a daily driver with a "full race" flathead engine. 1466.jpg

I have 2 and they are both '40 Sedans. Plan to sell one. Just don't know which one. Currently driving the chopped one and faded red one is a day away from driving it.
