It was a 12 hour day working on Her but we got the engine back in. Had some fabricating to do for the throttle linkage. Replaced some gaskets. Got a new coil. Add in a bunch of blood & sweat and down the street She went. Was fun seeing all the Neighbors peeking out their windows. Now it's time to work on the body work and electric on top of a bunch of extras. It's a good feeling getting it on the road....one week ahead of schedule. Onward & Upward we go!!!

Well, we were able to put about 4 miles on it today. Runs hot at idle had some lifter noise and smokes a tiny bit. But, it will get us to a few car shows before the snow. No leaks from the motor. Here is a pic of it out on the road today in front of our place.

prolly traditionalist..do you what you want! besides 2" would still look wierd with that chop. but unless your gonna bag it, thats prolly more realistic.

Thanks! We are gonna drop it but not sure how far yet. We were just curious why so little was suggested.

Have you heard a 216 run before? They have some lifter noise. Smoke will come from the road draft tube, but not a lot.

When I was a kid I may have heard one. The loudest noise is the oil tube that feeds the head. It taps the side pan. That drives me nuts. Guess I will have to open it up again.

Ya got me, im a traditionalist through and through. I just feel the style of chop on your car and grille treatment looks very early 50s style, and back then if you flip through old magazines you would notice the customs of the day werent that low. Paint it up in a burgandy or dark blue, some caddy sombraros, and lower it a good 2 inches and i bet many would be fooled into thinking its a original custom. But its your car and if you feel yours should "lay frame" like alot of other peoples then thats your choice;)

I agree, but I'd go 2.5"-3". You can reasonably achieve that with cut coils and lowering blocks and still have a driveable car.

  26. Nice score...definitely need to pancake the truck...3 to 3.5 inches closer to Mother Earth and she'll look great...tons of potential...wonder if there is a Golf Cart forum out there somewhere we Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods are telling that guy that he scored...keep posting progress pix

I think cars that lay-frame look broken...but thats just my .02 for what it's worth. I dig your Chevy, looks killer and it was a hell of a trade!

3" or so lower, a nice dark color and away you go!

I say u do a 4 inch lowering. You need to get real low for that chop to look good. Or if you want to go all out lay body it will look bad ass. Be a little competition for draginit1290 ahahaha.

Thanks guys. We are gonna start by dropping the rear 3". Then move to the front. Below are a few pics from the weekend. My Dad has the 29 model A and my brother has the 442 clone....And I am the handsome one with our 51.

damn thats a nice collection of rides..

-im just curious as to ur trade deal. did the previous owner do all the work himself?? or pay to have all that done? either way im still confused how someone could put so much time or money into a project and just trade it off... and offer cash too!?? what was in that golf cart that could justify such a trade?? if you dont mind me askin......i didnt realize there was a market for those.
