We've made some progress over the last two weekends on the '55. We got the front suspension in place, welded in the crossmembers, set up the rear axle floater, and got the car off of the frame jig during the first weekend. Then this past weekend, we got the body back off the frame, disassembled the chassis, flipped it over and finished a bunch of welds on the crossmembers, cut off the original body mounts, and started working on the inner rockers to build the body mounts.
We're planning on having a roller for the drags in October, won't be running then. Hopefully, some time next year. The biggest hold up is the green to build the engine right.
Yeah I know, Rodney...but banging gears is fun! It should still be fun with the 'glide...but it won't be quite the same animal, ya know? Looks great though...you guys nailed the stance!
Keep up the good work you dirty bastards!!!! Is Ric going to fit in there??? You might have to put the seat in the back! Can't wait to see it run. later, monkey
Man does that bring back memories. I hope to see it lined up against FlamedAbone's Henry J someday. Good job!
Damn! This'll scare the shit out of someone when he looks in his rearview mirror!! And yeah Bass... Bangin' gears is hella fun!!!

Thanks for the comments. The car has come a long ways from where it was when we started on it. We still have a long way to go. Getting it on its wheels was some major motivation to keep going. We stood out and stared at it for hours after it was rolling, imagining it going down the track.
