well I have a 93 corvette front suspension and a jag rear suspension. I have a 56 330 desoto hemi with a 700r4 for it and plan on running oversized big and little knock off wire wheels. Other than shaved hinges and filled roof it is going to be stock bodied with all the correct bumpers, lights, horns, handles, etc

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Have you considered a more traditional straight axle setup?

  6. The Hemi is cool, but that car deserves to be more than just another "street rod".

1930 dodge four door sedan. Future project for my wife. Bought to resale as I got a great deal and is very complete minus running gear.... but when I got it home my wife loved it so now it is stored in the back of the shop.[IMG]

That looks really mean so far.

Good luck with your Coronet Fish Tank

Oh and if anybody's interested...I put the two pickups on the chopping block.
$2k for the complete 52. $1k for the 48 body.

I hate to do it, but times are tough, I don't have time or space to do it right, and I ain't got the space to mothball it all.
Got enough to do to the family mobile (52 Meadowbrook).

I also have a lead on a 50 Chrysler that looks like a meaner version of our Meadowbrook.
    Nearly mint for $7k.

I'm building a 50 Plymouth Suburban wagon. Pretty stock appearance, lowered, disc all around, late model rear, slant/6 automatic, daily driver car, not a show piece.

Also building a 29 DeSoto roadster, flathead six, five speed, original wire wheels, no top, quick and dirty, old style hot rod.

Here's a pic of my '60-NY which has recently become roadworhthy.
Currently I'm deciding what wheels to run under the car.

Man, Bigblock. That crossflow is a true thing of beauty. They've got one on a stand in the basement of the Chryler museum. Sculpture!

I think for wheels my vote would be smoothies or baby moons and rings. Nothing to gaudy.

    Very cool car,

Well, I'm back. Recently picked up this '52 Dodge Coronet. All original (except for the dice). Drove it home despite the brakes didn't work. It will be a long, slow process but I'd like to make it a mild custom with a slightly modded drivetrain.
Not sure yet about paint, probably primer for now but I'm thinking black w/ red roof.
I've replaced all the wheel cylinders and brake shoes and added chrome wheels and narrow whites.
The other photo is what I want it to look like.

BTW, the '41 Plymouth coupe has been sold.

Hahahahaha! I have nearly the same car. I'm going w/ two tone paint and a visor to minimize the funky roofline...

    Heap one and heap two:

The Plymouth has the 218 w/ 3 on the tree. I think it's fluid drive. It runs barring the exhaust manifold issue I'm having. Just rebuilt the wheel cylinders and should be installing them soon.

The Desoto is sitting. I don't know what to do with it yet. Original 230 is DONE! Flaky rust on the dipstick is bad juju. I have a 318, 727, and Caddillac rear end with the same bolt pattern as the front. This requires a custom driveshaft. Brakes are also ruined. Those are expensive.
The second option I'm considering is a body swap onto a chassis with the same wheelbase and trackwidth. Might be the better way to go because I can get something with disc brakes...

    What do yall think?

I'm seriously looking at getting a '52 Desoto Firedome 4 door with rear bags, 7" notched frame. Has a late model 318 and TF. Still needs a driveshaft, rear tranny mount, exhaust and has steering box clearance issues. That original PS box is HUGE!! I may just convert back to armstrong steering or maybe some rack & pinion if I make something work. Anyone have any ideas???
