This week has been pretty cool. I've been helping to finish this car for the last couple of months.

The owner got to drive it for the first time on Tuesday night. Now I live on a country road and wouldn't you know as soon as he pulled onto the road (no lights) 3 cars come down the road. Should be a memorable moment :D

Prior to that drive the car hadn't been driven since 53. The car was an old hot rod. The car has been rebuilt by a lot of talented people over the past 14 years. Richard Glymph painted the car...made me nervous working around such perfect paint!

There is still a few things to work out on the car but it went home under it's own power today....about a 30-40 mile jaunt. We did have to stop by Jr's along the way and take care of a little tranny problem.

Even though the flattie fought us a little along the way she runs like a charm now. It's a real cool car to drive and I was suprised how well the flattie wet down the road. It was a great day for a drive.

Sorry for the bad pic. The car was still a little dusty from my shop.

I really didn't do that much just assmbley and some stuff like exhaust and minor fabrication.

It's all the real thing and some really cool stuff going on. Check out the carb linkage...Only a few will know what it is.

There's a lot of little things like the choke linkage that people will not even see. All made from a spare 94 and some throttle rods. Actually works real real nice.

that is a very cool hotrod, that is memorable project

  13. So I presume you sorted the exhaust out, how did it end up sounding with the reduced 1 1/2" pipes at rear?

That car is as 'ace' as it gets...

    Cheers,

Drewfus...ended up with 1 5/8" at the back. Had to downsize about 6" to 1 1/2'" through the crossmember. It wasn't easy fitting it in there but was well worth it. I should have taken pics of how tight it is. I had to wrap about 2' of the pipe cause it sits in a pocket between the floor and the frame. The floor on a 3 window sorta wraps around the frame.

Sounds good. He's gotta get the smitties blown out a little :)

HRP....the current owner has only had it for 14 years. I guess it's a good thing it sat before that cause it was unmolested!

It may have been dormant for 55 years, but it's aged well.
