1940 ford fender repro?

does anyone make a steel left rear fender for a 1940 ford coupe in reproduction? Carlg

 

Grapevine says Bob Drake.

 

I've heard that rumor about Drakes making them too. His other repro body parts are very nice and these, probably, won't be any different. I've seen a fair amount of fenders on ebay lately too. Mike

http://www.rodnrace.com makes them. They were formerly Anderson Industries. I have their 1963 catalog and they were selling rear 40 Ford fenders for $32 back then.

I think he's looking for a steel fender and I don't think anyone including Bob Drake is doing a repro of them. I may be wrong. A quick call can determine if he is. Drake may have a line on where to find an original. Also check with Dick Spadaro. I believe he is on here.

 

I havent seen any steel,been looking along time.Have been buyin front and rear off and on at decent prices,whatever decent is these days.Use them for shop wall decor.

 

Last I heard, Drake was in the process of making rear steel fenders, but they weren't available yet.

 

I talked to Bob Drake at the Fathers Day run and he is also in the progress of a steel 40 Ford body...he says he wants to make a whole steel 40.

 

Another ambitious project for The Duck! Would that be a convertible, coupe, Tudor, Fordor, pickup, panel, sedan delivery or ALL of them?

That seems to often be an indicator that there is someone has inside info on something coming out in repop form soon when there's a large rush of original pieces suddenly hitting the market.
