I actually have my own hanging next to a picture of Dalton/Swayze from Road House. Bad Ass! Of course Dalton would have "round-housed" the Chancellor of Germany if he tried to award him with that medal. Dalton was many things in life but not a Socialist!

I'm so conflicted. Hope I'll be accepted and loved.

Ok Duke you start a story first - tell us the story of the Merc that sits in your drive way just rusting away because you don't feel like fixing it up, or the one of the truck you have in your garage that hasn't seen a road in ages. Go first then I'll tell a story about a running Shoe Box that sits in a garage and only comes out to local events for about an hour then heads back to the garage. lol.

Even though everything I own is Chevy, I will tell you that I fall in love with Fords every time I see them. From the late 20's thru the mid sixty's no one can deny that Ford put out some of the most beautiful cars ever as well as hands down the most beautiful engine. The Ford Flathead is and will always be the quintessential engine for Hot Rodders and my thoughts are that everyone should own one at least once in their lives. I am still waiting to get mine but rest assure, it's on it's way. And it will be pulling a 1929 or 1932 Ford Roadster along with it for the ride.

I am currently reading a biography of him and his family. The book says he was quite the tinkerer as a young lad. As a kid he was first inspired by coming across a steam powered cart one day while he was riding in a horse drawn buggy with his father, William. He immediately jump down from the buggy and started asking the guy all kinds of questions on how it worked.

Henry was like many of us and would take anything apart to put it back together.

    Happy Birthday Henry.

Ok, I'm not going to lie, I was brought up in a Chevy family ("because I'm a chola" - hater!) but there's nothing sexier than the curves on a Merc, nothing tougher looking than a 36 Pick'em Up, and there's no feeling you get inside when you see a Ford Hot Rod - just parked it can make your heart feel like there's a piston pumpin' in it. My next ride will be a Ford - a classic not the piece of caca they make nowadays, oh yeah it will probably have a Chevy motor in it. haahaa. Just finishing up the "Hater-Aide" can't waste a drop of it. LOL!

January 12, 1904 Henry Ford personaly raced across frozen Lake St. Clair to set a World Land Speed Record at 91.37 . In the 1923 INDY 500 L.L.Corum raced a Model T Ford based car with a Twin Cam head built by the Chevrolet brothers finished in 5th place. Four MILLERS beat him and he beat 7 MILLERS , 3 MERCEDES, 5 Bugatti's, a Duesenberg, and 3 PACKARDS;)

So was his birthday the 29th? If so that makes him even more amazing, considering that was his birthday and he was a LEO too.

Wasn't Henry Ford one of the original partners in a little car company known as Cadillac? Pretty sure he helped start it and backed out only to start FoMoCo a year or two later.

  27. It was started as Henry Ford Co. and they removed him because he wasn't doing what they wanted and changed the name to Cadillac. He then started Ford Motor Company. It was actually the third company he was involved with.
