I have a very good four cylinder Vertex Scintilla mag, which it is configured to work clockwise (looking down from the top). Does anyone know if this can be reversed to counter-clockwise rotation so I can run it on a Banger? I have a copy of the Speedway Motors manual, which gives lots of details except for this procedure. Also need ideas for an adapter that fits the stock mag body to the flathead Banger.
Contacts to experts in this technology also appreciated.

  2. Yes it can be done but you need someone who knows what there doing.

You will have to have the cam changed from a left to right hand version. The point layout will have flipped the other way and the most differcult job is the advance mechanism has to be swapped to right hand rotation as well. Differcult because its in the base of the mag so the whole thing has to be taken apart.

As nothing seems to be right for a banger including the drive I wouldn't bother with it as there are plenty of Scintilla's out there that are set-up to turn the right way and have the correct base for a banger as well.
