its hard to say if its the way he built the car, but i dont think any car is designed to with hold to a barrel roll, or 3 of them, theres a ton a force behind that especially when its slamming into the ground.

but anyways, hes one lucky SOB

Can't believe he had time to stand up and see the end of the crash.

I had a spill like that one years ago on the dirt. NOTHING came off the car, especially me. Got my dad to thank for that. Aint nothing wrong with some common sense and a stick welder.

I wonder how he felt after he stood up and watched his car "roll" away.

He's lucky he fell out! If he was still in his seat he'd be dead for sure!

One word...."lift". Doesn't sound like he came off the throttle until he was well past the center line.

"seatbelts Kill more Lives than they Save!"

Nonsense, actually even in this sequence...
Seatbelts were conceived for use in vehicles with the seat held in by more than old chewing gum, this car was so badly put together EVERYTHING was a crapshoot.
Think about this in the particualr sequence shown: The guy lived because he was ejected apparently when vehicle was close to ground and rolling away from him. This was pure dumb luck...
He could have been ejected a fraction of a second earlier with car rolling TOWARD him.
    Splat.
He could have been ejected a fraction later and gone for a hundred foot flight. Splat.

The seat would have been the safest place if he had had even 4 half decent bolts into even semi-unrsted tin.
He simply lucked into ejection at the only survivable instant in a long series of instants.

seen this before..bet he had a load to clean up..and i dont mean his car pile!

  23. AMEN! A couple seconds either way, and we'd have watched him die (or get hurt BAD) on that footage. I wonder if he was even belted in?

Did that car pass any kind of tech inspection?

    from nowhere...

I love how everyone posting on here knows from the minute of blurry footage shown exactly how proper/improper the car was built.

You have NO REAL IDEA what set of circumstances actually took place, but you'll pass judgement from the computer chair...

Anybody ask what year this was?
I'm sure it had to pass some kind of tech to be on the track, however tech on a twelve second car can be somewhat different than on an 8 second car.

Well built cars never come apart in barrel rolls?
Its probably a non-purpose built street/strip car, most of what you see coming apart...might just be G.M.'s handywork.

The point is, you have NO IDEA what really happened...

Did it have a harness tied to the cage, or a 30 year old wornout seatbelt?

Of course, he could have just unlatched it before staging the car, while no one was paying attention...you can't catch everyone...if thats the case, I'll bet he uses it in EVERYTHING now...

  27. Sorry to hear that was a friend of yours:). Or you?:D. BUT, regardless of what year it was, "IF" the audio was correct for the video, homey had more than ample opportunity to let off. I would not want to ride in a car with him NOW or THEN. He fucked up in his driving, in addition to the car's lack of safety in it's build for how fast it had potential for

What a retard. He stayed in that WAY to long. If he stayed in that car he would have been spam-in-a-can.

    Lol...

    Nah...nobody I know...everyone I know has fast cars...or slow ones, like me.:D
but, really, you can't tell about the cars construction from the video, or how much of it was still the way it came from the factory. Hard to realistically point the finger...

As far as lifting...well...no excuse there.
Maybe hes one of those "never-lift" guys...

    You know...with the T-shirt quotes...

It's not too hard to figure out that that isn't a benchseat flying 30 feet in the air so I would say that 'realistically' it was installed improperly after it left the factory.
