Hellow HAMBers!! New to the board and loving it!! I am currently building a 61 Skylark to pay tribute to the early 60s traditional drag car style. Slight low rear stance with Hurst pie crusts out back, tall bias plys up front. The car is an 215 with an automatic. Currently the only mods will be dual exhaust with cut-outs and the pie crust slicks. What class or classes would my little buick fit into back in 61-63? Factory Modified Automatic (F/MA)?? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks for the info. The car weighs around 3000 lbs with me in it and is factory rated at 185 hp. Is there any literature out there with the different classes listed and the hp/weight breaks. I have a boat load of Gasser info, but not much on other classes.

CUSTOM, I love that Skylark pic!!! Do you have any more.

Thanks Rootie!! Another great pic. Do you know if this particular Skylark was still running a 215 style block?

I have a '61 Olds 2dr Cutlass F-85 I've been wanting to straight axle & altered wheelbase with an injected SBC. That skylark rules... Maybe sometime down the road I'll get around to it.

Stock man. It was a street car unless you have a history or specific details on the tranny that link it to a sort of sport racing. Do you have any history on the car? Do you have owners names? You'd be suprised when somebody's son dropped a tranny and pops helped out. Dig in man. Their are sources of info.
